Title: 15mm Japanese School Girl Tank Crews
Post by: Lord GreyWolf on 12 December 2013, 01:34:28 AM
As Part of the Girls Und Panzer thread we are looking at sourcing some 15mm Japanese school girls that can be used as bailed out crew and tank commanders.

Eureka Miniatures has had the following added to their 300club.

http://eurekamin.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=87_194_202&products_id=12398 (http://eurekamin.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=87_194_202&products_id=12398)

All you need to do is put in the amount you want no payment will be made until it is funded. The miniatures will cost around $0.80AUD each.
depending on how many are pre-ordered will influence how many variants are made.
at present there would be 4 different girls with maybe a second set being made if funds allowed.

Currently we have almost 300 pre-ordered but need to hit 600 in total before it gets made.

If we had 35 guys each pre-order 10 each we would exceed the amount we need and the minis would then be made.

The cool thing is you could use these minis for any sci-fi or mech type game.
as far as I know they will be anime themed.

please if your keen to get some add your order now as this project will most likely be cancelled at the end of February if the 600 units is not hit.

if you do pre-order some can you post in here so we can keep it up to date. no need to know how many just that you have supported it would be great.

Cheers

Well, you could always wait a week or so they're not concurrent.

As long as you're not plastering every board, I think you'll be fine.

We do tend to frown on two conversations on the same topic on separate boards you know...  :?

A lot of folk read a number of boards, particularly if they are related like 'Modern' and 'Future' and people will also pick up the recent posts thingy too, we figure that is enough.

:)

How about TMP? There are one of two nice people on there, or so I'm told.  lol

ok I got a reply from Nic. from Eureka Miniatures.

Quote
Dear Alan,

My apologies, we never make concept art for the Clubs, unless someone supplies it.
If the project gets up and made we would be looking at four figures, two to fit in hatches (ne full figure, one half figure), one to sit outside on the tank, and probably one running, to escape a burning vehicle.
If we get enough money to make more figures, we would increase those numbers.

Of course I would make those suggestions once the project hit target and if we received feedback saying that other poses were preferred or these were unsuitable, we would change the designs before we made them.

All the above is predicated on getting the numbers, and this is looking increasingly unlikely as time goes by.

All the best

Nic

So those who pre-order would get to voice their opinion on how the minis would look. But for me the minis should be something like this:

or this:

So if your keen to get some of these and support this we really do need more pre-orders. at least another 350 more if possible.,

Cheers

I will do TMP tonight as for FoW forum i think battlefront would delete like they did to my 6mm FoW project thread. And TGN?

Good point re. Battlefront; TGN's forum is tiny.

But TMP will be the best place.

I should have written RELUCTANTLY will make a TMP thread.

I know what that site is like and should have known better but....

thx for pre-ordering some of the Tiny 15mm Japanese School Girl Tank Crews.

quite a few views on there are rather narrow minded and take alot out of contents. oh well
as long as this project gets finalized and put through I will be happy.

Hey, as a wise man once said (well it was Lardy Rich, but it was wise for him) something like, the vocal majority are like that because otherwise they wouldn't be noticed. It's the silent majority who might think, 'cool, I will order some' and not comment, that you have to play to.

I'm so zen it hurts sometimes.  :D

TMP is like Frothers without the swearing. Or the humour. Or the fun. Well, it's not like Frothers at all, now that I think of it. TMP is very much stuck in the 1980s. It's like a time machine. But not a good one.  lol
Title: Re: 15mm Japanese School Girl Tank Crews
Post by: Lord GreyWolf on 22 December 2013, 06:34:29 AM
I have heard of Frothers but never joined that site.

TMP I use it to find thread that might have info I need but otherwise very really post there.

I am now pulling the plug on my Time Machine and leaving the 80's alone...

My wife was so surprised at the narrow minded comments on there. And she watches/reads weirder and stranger Anime then I do.

I hope we can get the project loaded but its not looking promising at the moment and with the Bi@rch war going on there who knows.

If it doesn't get off the ground I might see if one of my mates will try their hand at a CAD project and I'll just get them 3D printed off shapeways.

time will tell.

I think that thread is a prime example of what is wrong with the world... a concentration on really minute things which are not important, while the really big problems are left unsaid or ignored.

Nice juxtaposition between 'sexual exploitation of minors' and using the term 'Jap' in the same post by one guy though. I suppose we should be grateful it's not a setting that features African-Americans.

Just trawled partway through the the thread. Wow. Typical TMP! Outrage and cultural insensitivity in the same breath.

yup its been a roller coaster ride.

I even had my man card revoked for the MLP painted tanks.
but I must say there are a few guys on there that are very supportive...

I'll be looking into other options regarding this Project if it doesn't fund.

I saw that! Feel the shame! Shame!  lol

What a bunch of tools.

Anyway, good luck with your project, I've watched the whole series, and was one of the people that chatted with Brent at Company B to get the decals going. Unfortunately for me, this was "A Project Too Far" and I have since had to just watch others as they do the project.

Stand strong and happy hunting!

Seems I am getting some positive feedback on the MLP tanks.

Also my Daughter handed back my MAN card when she told me she loved her tanks.

I really love it when I can play my games with my kids [even though they some times cheat really they do. The 5 and 7 year old are both shocking or it's that I am not allowed to kill their units and cry when I do kill them, but they both gleefully giggle and snort when they kill mine... It's not fair!!!!! AARRGGHHH]

Over all I have to game with my kids as their is no local gaming store or community. the closes ones are 45 minutes or 1 hour 20 minutes drive away. So for me I either try to find Solo rules, games my kids can understand and play. once they get older I can expand and get more complicated games for us to play.

Thx for the support guys.

They enjoy the games we play but they keep on ganging up on me.  My Daughter enjoys beating me and does her dance of joy each time she does. They are great winners but pouty losers.... go figure they are kids after all... then again aren't we all big kids, come on we play with toy soldiers...

and one way of removing it is "hahahah Daddy I beat you hahaha Daddy I beat you!!!"
beaten by a 7 year old.... the shame....

but then again 2 hours we spent together playing the game Priceless.

Just had some great news from Nic at Eureka we are now two thirds of the way to our target of 600 pre-orders,

We only need 200 more that :-) would:
10 guys ordering 20 each
20 guys ordering 10 each
5 guys ordering 40 each
40 guys ordering 5 each
So come on guys if you can and are willing then spread the word let's get this made.

The "Get over yourself" comment about Mr. Man Card was me, in my TMP-guise.  :D

I've got no actual intention of getting into GuP tank-do gaming, but I'm tempted to get into that Eureka order just to piss off the ranting loons over on TMP now... and possibly find some cheap 15mm tanks to paint pink...

I've only found the Plastic Soldier Company had decent amounts of Zvezda product but most of the other sites were always out of stock.

PSC is the best/easiest but a couple of Ebay sellers havegood stock including Stu-n-Fran (I think). My FLGS has good stocks here in Perth, so I usually buy local unless a real good special comes up.

No one Stocks Zevzda here in New Zealand.

Its all about Battlefront... and nothing else.

I have some BF but mostly PSC and some Zevda tanks.
Will be keen to see their range grow...
