So chaps, what lovely wargaming goods did we all get for Christmas?
I imagine there are a fair few people here who will be painting till new years and a fair few more who will be adding another box to the "to paint" pile. :)
Personally i got a warpath corporation army set and a 10 man squad of veer myn.
I look forward to hearing about your respective festivities and seeing the presents painted later on in the year. :)

Very restrained really, my daughter bought me the Hobbit rules book and I also received the Deadwood seires for a bit of Wild west inspiration. :D

Dreadball
Not my minis (I wish). I have to paint the little chaps yet.
had a couple of games so far ... looks to be very fun (much quicker and more interactive than Bloodbowl)
and the sculpts are great and much better than the normal Mantic offerings
thanks Santy :)

Dr Who scarf and the wargaming compendium..
-
Money, which I strongly suspect will end up passing into the sweaty paws on Big Daz from Gripping Beast at some point...
-
Some lead spending money, which I will be spending on the Saga rules and I am thinking on spending the rest on the Khurasan federal army.

5 decal sheets from Schildsmiede http://www.schildschmie.de/?go=artikel&ps=25604&subid=28777 (http://www.schildschmie.de/?go=artikel&ps=25604&subid=28777)
for my ever expanding Late Roman/ Arthurian army.
Same quality as LBM but 48 decals for less than 5 Euro! And some very interesting colour schemes.
A really nice wooden dice bowl that will have WillieB - DuxB engraved in it. lol
Inspired by Mitch my son ordered me a Grenadier Silver Dragon (which will end up red) but it's still flying towards Antwerp.
My good friends Cookie (Johan) and Catharina-Inge made me a lovely set of marzipan penguins in a winter scene complete with Christmas tree and presents. Obviously I'll never eat it! Take a look here https://www.facebook.com/johan.vaneecke.9?fref=ts (https://www.facebook.com/johan.vaneecke.9?fref=ts)
A big wet kiss from my 3 year old Godchild Romy...

Far Cry 3 for my PC, three hats for my collection, two Foreign Legion ( a white and a blue one) and a Russian peaked cap, Angie Sage's Magick series. :-*
-
So, am I the only one that have to order my wargaming stuff, wrap it myself and than feign surprise when I recieve it?
-
Naaah' I did that too......
-
I did that with the perry's. Except the wrapping. I hate wrapping.
-
An Airco A10 I/48th scale plane painted superbly & complete with scenic flight stand, together with a painted staff car for 1914 BEF, thanks Phil!!!! Some Trent French Horse Artillery, thanks Sue!!!! And my second ACW "personality" figure, 'Jubal E Bykleigh', a stout Confederate General, thanks Matt!!!!!!
-
I received some additions to my 6mm Arab-Israeli collection, some 28mm Warlord WW2 Germans - 10.5cm gun, Kradschutzen, and a Pionere track that is the worst resin casting I've ever seen. I'm going to write Warlord about it.
Also received some Perry Italians for the Eastern Front. Not all of this project arrived yet though.
For me, that's a very small haul, and fits in with existing projects. Just as importantly, everything will fit in my existing case for storage.
-
I buy enough stuff during the rest of the year that I request non-gaming items from the family for Christmas.
Everybody is happier that way. Not everybody speaks "gamerese."
Had a great (quality over quantity) Christmas morning.
Gracias,
Glenn

Mother in Law ordered the Fistful of Kung Fu complete set for me! :o :)
Achaean Warrior Osprey, Age of Bronze latest volume of graphic novel series, and Helen of Troy movie on DVD, along w/ a Cthulhu movie w Tori Spelling ( ::)).
Really did quite well. The wife's family now just buys stuff out of my Amazon Watch list, so I make sure to keep it updated at Christmas time!
-

Nope. As I don't do X-Mas, I got nothing. Then again, I did order some Brother Vinni Fallout miniatures and over the last months I threw money at several Kickstarters like Dark, Darker, Darkest, Incursion, AvP and Battlesystems modular terrain. Also still awaiting the 2nd wave of that blasted Sedition Wars KS.
-
Only directly gaming related stuff was some lovely DMH Cacti (that I was too tight to buy for myself previously... ::)) from a friend and a new cabinet to put my painted stuff in from my lovely missus.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Hell on Wheels could be considered gaming related as well I suppose, but I am not going to... ::)
-
The Elder Sign add on boardgame
The Wargames Compendium - Book -
The IHMN Supplement - Heroes Villain and Friends ( Are you kidding Osprey ! No pics, no painting and a darn boring layout ! A step back in old wargame times ! At least the content is good )
The Big Bang Theory - Bubble Bobble Heads
-
So, am I the only one that have to order my wargaming stuff, wrap it myself and than feign surprise when I recieve it?
to be fair I did get the wife to push the "Buy it Now" button so it's not really buying it myself is it?
... but my son got me "Blood, Bilge and Iron Balls" age of sail wargame rules on his own volition so that was a surprise
... and my wife will get her own surprise when she sees "Paypal, Paypal, Paypal" on the bank statement in the New Year after my Steam and other necessary holiday season sale purchases
oops lol

In a roundabout way... money towards a Nokia Lumia 1020. High time I had a smartphone; one with a humongous 41MP camera so's I can hopefully take better mini photos. (Re: the victorian superhero topic up in the workbench) ;)

If you're getting a smartphone for mini photography,i highly recommended that you download instagram.it allows you to edit your photos and automatically takes the highest quality photos your phone is capable of.(plus I've found that there aren't enough wargamers on there.)

I hope for you that works out allright. I've got the Lumia 820 and experienced sesveral problems with it :
usage of the external mem card was cumbersome. Works better now with the Win 8 Mobile Amber version. Recently when I watched my photos, it somehow made a copy of it, so when I took a pic and looked 3 times at it, I would find 4 copies afterwards... >:(
Battery is another issue. Icon shows it drains rather fast, but when I reboot the Phone it's back to +95%. o_o
Hopefuly it'll last for a while, but my next Phone will be android. :?
-
Not much....in fact...nothing. :(
-
A collection of Dixon Old West townsfolk and Artizan cowboys. And socks. Lots of socks.
-
Fairbairn and Sykes commando dagger, four tires for my Morris Minor van and so on.
-
A mini construction set I can pilfer the Cones & barracades & stuff from, then toss the matchbox sized vehicles in the toy box. Also the Dysney "John Carter of Mars" movie on DVD.
-
A Y-Wing for X-Wing (supplemented by an X-Wing, 2 more Y-Wings and a TIE Advanced - which I bought in the Boxing Day sales at 20% off), and Bioshock/Bioshock 2 Ultimate Rapture Edition.
-
this is 110% correct. I'm hoping it will lead to a revival in stop motion too.
The instagram video function is perfect for that, I did a stop video recently of my beard disappearing in small sections.

Well it's my Birthday today!
I got a couple of unrelated things but I did get a mug with "The British Empire runs on Tea" on the side and a superb book that I was introduced to at BLAM, 'Lost London 1870-1945'. That'll keep me in reference material for quite some time. My almost completed man cave has a piece of wrapping paper and a happy birthday banner on it. I think my wife might be trying to say something.... ;)
-
Happy Birthday Dean! That Lost London book did look very good!
-
Thank you sir, it is a very good book. I kept getting told off for looking through it instead of doing real things like look after children :)
-
More books than I'll be able to read during the holidays:

A belated happy Christmas (& happy birthday Dean),

And her choice was excellent! :)
-
A Sarissa MDF building and cash, which has already been spent on gaming supplies :D I also bought myself some new toys, so all in all, I can't complain
-
Love the bookends Sir. :-*

Although the legend or story of Santa Klaus, or rather Sinterklaas, originated in this country he came rather late to me. But in what an unexpected and plesant manner. A fellow LAF'er(you know who you are) send me some really nice miniatures that will be both a challenge and a refreshing departure from my usual painting endavours. When i have some nice pictures i will show them on here and all will be revealed. 8)
