Title: Reasonably priced Fantasy terrain suggestions?
Post by: maxxev on December 29, 2013, 06:37:56 PM
Hi, GW have pulled their best fantasy terrain kits I have discovered and Dr Willet is no longer casting for sale so I am at a loss for reasonably priced fantasy buildings now after mini monsters.

Anyone got any other suggestions that I am not aware or (note Stronghold and Tabletop World are too expensive for me).

Cheers

Ziterdes hardfoam terrain. Sturdy, nicely detailed, light weight, reasonably priced, what's not to like?

Here are a couple of mine painted up:

I'll second the Ziterdes stuff. Very reasonably priced, paints up great. And, it's not MOARSKULLZ!  lol

www.tabletop-buildings.com....has excellent buildings in various styles. All made from high grade plaster and Hirst Arts licensed molds. I have a whole bunch of them and one custom coming up. Run by a very friendly person who gives an excellent service and thus makes this hobby so enjoyable. Try it.

Vacuum formed terrain is pretty cheap.

I use Pegasus Hobbies crates & barrels, rivers, and will pick up some stone walls soon.  Inexpensive and multipurpose.

Have you looked at mdf buildings? Warbases.co.uk is about the cheapest, some nice dark ages huts starting at about £3, though you have to add your own roof covering (cut up cardboard tiles or use fake fur as thatching). They also do a lovely windmill at £12, been meaning to grab one of those for a while. 4ground and sarissa do similar products, higher priced but some are pre-painted. A good range to suit all budgets. My warbases dark ages "village" looks like this, the middle building I scratch built from card, others are warbases straight from the pack or with a few added bits made from coffee stirrers, with fake fur roofing - badly done in my case but you get the idea.
