Title: A tale of three Ogres (Plus another...)
Post by: leegwonfu on 31 December 2013, 05:20:48 AM
I love painting up ogres. I think that the diverity in sculpts and in the way that you can paint them is a lot of fun. I just recently finished up a couple, and figured I'd show what cool miniatures fantasy ogres can be.

First up is a Reaper Bones ogre, sculpted by I believe Ben Siens (but I could be wrong). I really love this fig. Fun to paint and an all-around great sculpt!

Ooops - I said three! Here are the other two:

A fantastic sculpt from the Chainmail game from WoTC: the Ogre Penitent and another great Ogre from the Delves Kickstarter, the Oni Mage (sculpted by Bob Naismith). I love them both.

Nice. I replay like the differences in colour. That chainmail one is especially cool.

Reviving this back from the dead, as I have another Ogre that I finished (a while ago), and am half-done with another. Yes - I still enjoy painting up the misbegotten fellows.

Love that ogre mage - what a characterful sculpt!

Great work, love this sculpt too and it is on now back on my wishlist. Remind me again where this is from... Reaper?

Yep - Reaper. I'm not sure if it has made it to their Bones line yet, though, so may only be available in metal.

I love that Japanese Ogre sculpt, and you did a great job painting him!   8)

Thanks, guys. It's a really great and unique sculpt. Reaper seems to produce a lot of great ogre figs.

OK, reviving this sleeping thread to throw in another Ogre that I recently painted up. It’s another Reaper fig, this time a Bones. I think that Reaper makes some of the most characterful ogre miniatures out there.

Very nice work on the Ogres. The last model's particularly good. I have three of the earlier models painted, and I might just have to pick up a couple more.

OK, got another two (with another one on the way...).

The first one is another Reaper Bones, and the other is from Northstar from their Rangers of the Shadowdeep range. It's actually in resin, which is nice (it's quality resin). A very characterful figure.

Thnaks for the kind words, people.
