Thanks :) .

I have some of the new back-packs and will be up gunning a few of my suits. I am not sure how they will fit in to the units but they are too good NOT to use! :

But where are the tankards?

Cheers :)

These don't need tankards... they have an in-built beer delivery system ;)

Here's one with the new gizmos (basic paint but I'm not sure what to do with it yet...) :

Sweet stuff... I've been eyeing these up for a while. Could you help me out and do a comparison shot of one of these and a stand 28mm human please?

Will this do? The human on the left is from Hasslefree Miniatures:

That's excellent and very generous of you, thanks.  8)

I was wondering if they might be suitable for armoured humans but they're a touch too short.

Post by: Inso on 06 January 2014, 07:31:09 PM
Yes, I am afraid they are no good for humans to wear :(

That said, the suits could contain tentacled aliens, energy beasts or any manner of exotic creature... the sealed helmet doesn't give the game away :)

I think they would work OK as suits for these (from: http://www.tengumodels.co.uk/userimages/Greys(2809297).htm ):

Stick a pair of pins in the top of its head and it could be beetle armour  lol

I read this a hour or so ago and since then I decided I NEED a "kabuto bro" team for my 1/300 scale giant monster games. They could be different colours and have their own set of head decoration (horns, jaws and something else?)

YPU - that sounds fun... you should give it a try :).

I'm on to the next batch of Eggs and have got this far with them:

The top three have just been primed and the bottom ones just need the highlights and bases doing.

The advent of the new heavy back-packs has meant a rethink on organisation... check out this link for more information:

I've been continuing the process of painting the platoon, without getting caught up in details (due to having NO sleep recently :( )... slow but steady progress:

There is also an interesting diversion in powered armour form... you'll find it here:

http://insosworld.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/grymn-power.html

Yes... it is good to be back in the saddle with this project .

A Flying tiger?

The first member of Torge's Tigers:

The jump pack is from Puppetswar.

There are another four to go but seeing as they are so time consuming to paint, I may limit the little unit to a total of five... but a plan never survives contact with the enemy, now does it?!

Post by: Inso on 28 January 2014, 09:34:36 PM
...and then there were two:

They are different because they each have personalised armour (they paint their own, you know :D ).

Very cool, I love those Puppet War jump packs. I like the differing armor patterns as well :)

Thank you :D

The Tigers are now rank marked and have had decals added to their shoulders. Unfortunately, due to the weather, I have yet to matt varnish them so they are currently far too gloss for a photograph.

Instead, I have continued with my urban powered armour and now have twelve finished:

The whole lot are lovely, but those jump packers look fantastic.

Definitely a bit of a Battletech Clan armour silhouette going on, cool.

I love this last batch of power armors. Great consistency in the stripe patterns. Truly beautiful, and this coming from someone who has no interest in the Grymm line.
Title: Re: Grymn Powered Armour.

Cheers :)

They take far too long to paint though  o_o ... I'd have them all finished if it wasn't for the camo-patterns :)

I have another four ready for the ink wash. These include the heavy weapon packs for the squads shown. Once they are finished I am past half way  :D

Post by: Inso on 16 February 2014, 03:23:56 PM
After a bit more painting, I now have three sections of troops in their correct configuration:

The top four troopers are the command section and the eight below are two separate infantry sections. Now that they are arranged as they should be, I have removed the 'place-setters' and they are added to their sections below:

As you can see, I need to paint the rest but I will be painting them three at a time so as to give me a break between painting angles. Still... on the plus side, I am now over half way! Once they are all painted, I will be adding decals and varnish and they will be able to join the NMA properly :) .

Just three more to go before the ranks/squad markings get applied:

No live action shots yet... not until they are all finished and marked up with rank and reg't :)

Here are two pics of the same platoon:

They are fully painted, have had their ranks put on (not that you can see them from this far away) and since the picture was taken, have been gloss varnished ready for decals. I have the number decals for them already but am waiting for the regiment decals to arrive from Dom's Decals (I only ordered them a day or so ago so that is not a 'stampy foot' waiting ;) ).

So it's just decals and a matt varnish to go :).

The finished platoon:

A bigger pic:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d161/Inso/Grymn/Grymn%20Urban%20Powered%20Armour/GrymnUPA23_zps95d716d9.jpg

Each squad has two fire teams (one has white numbers and the other has black numbers). Later I'll post pix of the tigers.

Very nice. I have been thinking foir some time about how to make the Tau tanks into generic sci-fi transports and this gives some inspioration. I have not found anything else yet that looks like it will do the job as well.
