Title: Donald Featherstone remembered
Post by: warlord frod on January 14, 2014, 06:22:09 PM
Just learned that we lost a war gaming great in 2013. Few of us who have been pushing lead and plastic for a long time can say we never benefited from this fine gents work. Many of the first war games I played were inspired by his many books. I learned how to modify and paint my early Arifex Miniatures by reading his work. I still recall how he said our rules should fit on a 4x5 card (I in fact did reduce my Civil War rules to three 4X5 cards, one each for cav, infantry and artillery) He was indeed a giant and will be missed by many I am sure

I think I must have been too young, because apart from the name, I can't remember coming across anything by him when I was getting started, only in my later hobby years, when he was already a legend.

As Grant rightly pointed out, there is an existing thread, which means I'll lock this one.
