Title: Introduction
Post by: Mike L. on 16 January 2014, 04:20:44 AM
Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste.....not really

Folks from my generation will get the joke.

I am semi-retired, and rediscovering the miniature world after a loooong hiatus.
I have started painting some (inexpensive) plastic minis from Wargames Factory, ie, their Greatcoat Troopers and Viking Bondi.  I hope to be able to add some better figures as time goes on, and hopefully as my painting skills improve.
I hope to be able to find someone locally to play SAGA (with the Bondi).

No pics yet.  My work is so poor, especially compared to the master class minis I see posted here.

Anyone here in the Charlotte, NC (USA) area?

Well, you got here, so you gotta have taste.  ::)

Not just your generation.  :D

Welcome. Looking forward to see some of those Greatcoats in the PA or Future board.  8)

Hello Mike L.,

Welcome to LAF!

Determination is the first ingredient to greatness--or at least for me--daily improvement. Painting is fun if I make it so.
If not, I strip away the old and begin anew.

I would imagine metro-Charlotte would have scuds of players, hope so.

Best,

Sender

Thanks for the kind welcome, gentlemen.  I am learning as I go, mostly from youTube vids and such.  I have seen a few pics on the webs of minis that are about the same quality as mine....so I guess we're not all master painters.
Main problem for me is ....faces/eyes.  If someone wanted to point me at a good tutorial on this board (or any other venue), it would be much appreciated.  Thanks, gracias, merci, danke, etc.
