Title: International "Husky" in 28mm
Post by: FATROC on 16 January 2014, 05:50:14 PM
Found this little beauty on ebay! Don't know the exact scale, but it's approximately 4.5 inches long by 2 inches tall by 2.5 inches wide. My Hasslefree modern operators look pretty awesome next to it. I've already snatched up three. Two for my modern Brits, and one that will be re-tasked for my Zombie Hunters Task Force!  lol

great find, if the size they state is 5in long then it scales out to approx 1/58th scale, so ideal for larger 28mm figs.

Awsome find - wrong side of the Atlantic ... customs would make the purchase a pain in the butt. >:(
Still ... bookmarked it for future use in hopes of politicians making that trade agreement everybody talks about so much ...

Took a couple of comparison photos. Unfortunately, they are 3.17mb and 3.14mb, so are too big to post.  :'(  I don't know how to resize them.  >:(  Any suggestions?  :?

I have one of these - the local CVS had a bunch on their diecast rack a while back. It's slightly oversize next to my Eureka French, but nothing excessive. There are actually four or five versions in the range with different weapons in the rear; those are all cheapo soft plastic, but if you disassemble the chassis they can easily be removed.

I put Spinspur - Hasslefree - Empress - Reaper - RAFM minis next to it and it fits pretty well. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to post the photos. These vehicles are pretty massive. Here's another photo of an actual one that gives some idea how big they are.

Yeah, they definitely fall into the MRAP-ish "whoa that's a lot bigger than you'd think at first glance" category.

Quite a few basic variants as well, all around similar price;

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.XInternational+MXT+MV+Husky&_nkw=International+MXT+MV+Husky&_sacat=0&_from=R40 (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.XInternational+MXT+MV+Husky&_nkw=International+MXT+MV+Husky&_sacat=0&_from=R40)

Box of 12 is the cheapest way to go if you have a few amigos...

Nothing for the UK though  :(

Sure, send me a PM and I'll shoot the photos out to you. I took two. One showing the minis on 25mm GW style bases, and the second showing the minis on 30mm Warmachine style bases. If you can figure out how to post them to this thread, please do!  :)

If you want to upload images here just go to: Gallery, My Gallery, Create a new gallery category and then scroll down to its bottom and click add picture. A bit pernickity, but if you click enough buttons it should work.

I'm considering buying a pair, but yeah, having to ship them across the pond is a bit of a bummer. Unfortunately the diecast vehicles passing through the cheap shops here haven't been of the best quality. More crappy sports cars than the set of excellent Humvees and Russian military vehicles that they were selling a few years ago. =/

How the H#LL did you get that to upload?  :o  Oh well. Do you think you could post the second photo of the minis on the 25mm bases too?

Just a reminder, the minis are as follows, from the front of the vehicle to the rear: Spinespur-Hasslefree-Empress-Reaper-RAFM. Same sequence in both photos.

Really easy, right click on the pic in like picasa and copy imageweb adress(or something like that) then you use the img][/img html code (click  insert image to make it appear) and just ctrl+v in between the two ][ .

Thanks for posting the comparison pics.
Those are so nice for so many different games.
Looking at the 12 packs on Ebay, they seem to be the type of die casts that gas stations and drug stores around here sell for $5 or so. I'm going to hunt for the locally before ordering from Ebay.
Thank you so much for letting us know about these.

Your welcome. I always look through the cheap cars and trucks whenever I go to the local drugstores. I've found an Escalade and an Excursion that way!  :D

Contact the maker and ask them who their distribution base of stores are?  :-)

Was it difficult to remove the gunner from the armored turret? I have three of the un-turreted version and am interested in this version.

I just unscrewed the model to make it easier to paint, and the gunner is just held in with a screw. I'm getting some machine guns from empress to add tot he turrets.
