Title: 28mm Airborne jeeps
Post by: discok3 on 17 January 2014, 01:09:15 PM
Gents
A revival of Rules of Engagement at my club has got me wanting more para jeeps however the Warlord ones are tiny so I'm looking for any alternatives but coming up blank.
Artizan sell crew and I'm pretty sure they used to do jeeps but alas no more.
Is there really only one manufacturer out there?
Any help would be appreciated as I've run out ideas.
If course if anyone has some to sell/trade I'm all ears
Cheers
Kev

Sorry if anyone was hoping to see beautifully painted jeeps but now that I've found Company B jeeps available at The Wargames Command Post you never know I may yet post some pretty pics in the next month or two

Good! Just remembered I think Offensive also make some!
As to size I dont know, just wish the scale was the same for all.

Offensive Miniatures has one, I have reviewed it a while ago, the squares in the pictures are 1 by 1cm: http://wargameterrain.blogspot.be/2013/04/offensive-miniatures-us-paratrooper-jeep.html (http://wargameterrain.blogspot.be/2013/04/offensive-miniatures-us-paratrooper-jeep.html) Cheers

Thanks fellas.Had a look at the Offensive jeep...looks ok but no idea on the scale comparison with jeeps I have at the mo plus it's US so without the correct weaponry.Excited about the 1st Corps jeeps though so will keep a close eye on their website.

The offensive jeep is about 20% smaller than the one from Company B. Got one of both and the difference is pretty big. I intend to use the Company B jeep for my Brigade Piron instead of my airborne.

Thanks Kane.I have one of the old Artizan jeeps, another that is slightly larger and 2 resin ones so need them to be on the larger side...I'll swerve on the Offensive ones I think.

Yes it is a shame that Offensive miniatures Us Airborne are size deprived, they have some wonderful sculpts and would make nice additions to my collection of 101 paras

Hi,Spoke to Simon and Mick on Saturday the production moulds are done. The first three 1st Corps ,are a recce jeep, basic air bourne jeep with a wicker hamper on the rear.both vehicles can be fitted with a twin or single body mounted vickers 'k',there is also a passenger side mount for 'K' or bren gun.there is also a fully equiped radio jeep (unlike some one the market correctly placed equipment and mounts).I should know I made them.
You'll have to check with them, but I'm sure they will have some at York. I wasn't listening at that point too chuffed with how the new Dark age stuff had turned out !
