I'm looking for some sci-fi wolfen/werewolf/Vargr gigures for a skirmish project. There was a guy posting some resin masters for this kind of thing a few months ago, looking to start a new range and company of figures but i can't find it now. Does anybody know if these are available? Are there any other similar figures available? Critical Mass Games has the Protelene for 15mm, but I'm having a really hard time finding anything in 28mm.

Black hat have the cobalt line:

It sounds quite weird, and I wish I'd kept up with it, but at one point, I was looking at using plastic Skaven heads and Tau bodies for a sci-fi 'wolfmen' project. Though to be fair the wolfmen didn't have to look particularly 'wolfy': only a couple of drawings of them exist (they do look somewhat wolf-like) but they're described as 'ursine'. A bit ratty was as close as a bit wolfy or a bit beary.
The reason I gave up was there wasn't enough variation between the bodies. OK for the 'soldier' types but I needed some non-com types too for scientists and crew. But if you're just after soldiers then maybe it's worth considering - being plastic, the bits should be pretty cheap on ebay anyway.

Those Cobalt ones may just work. I know there was a guy posting renders and prints of a line hw was trying to eventually release as well, sized similar to regualr 28mm stuff and basically wolfen in hi-tech armor. If I can get those AND the cobalt ones I may just be set

There's this one guy from Infinity:

They also have these, that might work with the right paint job:

Those are the wolves you are looking for. I heard there has been a slight delay but they may be out in the next couple of months.
Personally I can't wait for the Hyenamen too. Though I will be more interested in the 15mm release, I may have to just pick up the 28mms too.
I'd also check out Bronze age Miniatures they have a number of Wolfmen in their sci fi range that I think would be particularly good in representing scouts or like hardcore spec ops types.

Any new reverse knee sci-fi humanoid releases are a good thing in my book, always looking for more proxy covenant elites! :D

Only four, but they're beauties!

Yep, the Bronze Age ones are quite good and reasonably close to a 28mm in size in case that matters. The Cobalt Ar-Men are also very nice and are their size is in the same ballpark but they are a tad post-apocalyptic/space barbarian/space orky in style. If that matters.
There's this one guy from Infinity
Hmm, did they discontinue all of these already?

As can be seen, the Infinity "dog warriors" tend to be much larger than your average 28mm figure and they also have a propensity (for fluff reasons) to dress up in kilts -- which makes them a bit particular in aesthetic. They are also somewhat pricey but maybe that's not a problem for a skirmish.

I actually find this brill! I've always thought the snarling rat-boys were beyond simple rodents. A bit like cartoony wolves...
The whole battle armor would be explained as heavy enviro suits; if they don't have guns, they're civvies. Actually, if they don't have ridiculously gi-normous guns, they're civvies. :D
Thanks again, sirrah!

Tau guns tend to be at the smaller end of geedoubleyoudiculous. They have some stupidly long rifles it's true, but the general grunt guns are OK I think - certainly, they would have been for my purposes. But I really did need some not in battle-armour (or heavy enviro-suits). Until I can find a way of doing that, that particular project is definitely on the back burner.
It may be possible to use more Skaven bits but I've not really investigated that. The things I've seen look too ragged and would contrast too much with the 'clean' Tau suits.

underfire are the ones I was thinking of, thanks! Sad to hear they're still not out, it's been quite a few months since those were announced.
But thanks even more for the links to bronze age and cobalt figs, those are going to work PERFECTLY! I wish the bronze age had a few more with guns, but the one with a knife should be easy enough to convert.
Planning on using them as me Plague army in Deadzone. DZ Plague are ok, especially the bigger 2nd and 1st gen, but the 3rd gen guys... well, I used to hate them but working on them has warmed me all the way up to utterly ambivalent. But a lycanthropy "plague" rampaging across the Corporation worlds? now THERE'S something I can get excited about!
so cobalt, bronze age, maybe some of the infinity wulver grenadiers as 3rd gens, some converted Confrontation Wolfen as 2nd gens (maybe Sgt Duros as well) and maybe a Privateer Press Feral Warpwolf as the 1st gen. If I can find one for a decent price, I'd love to use a Wolfen Worg for the plagued teraton, but they always go for a lot on ebay now :(

Don't forget the various Weird WW2 werewolves. The Westwind ones are very nice and recently the Gotterdammerung range was re-released.
Superfigs had about four werewolves in tight suits done, I think by the guy who did the Cobalt ones.
Ah and Westwind also did armed werewolf bikers in their modern Vampire range.

Hello again everyone!, yes I have been very annoyed myself with the delays, I hope to finally get casting done within the next month and a half!. I do apologize everyone for the wait, I have learned from this to not announce most items until they are already in casting :/!.
However in good news Brummie I will be doing a reprint of our first miniatures in 15mm for sure now, just waiting to get the 38mm ones out an rolling before we print the 15mm masters ;).
Cheers for the post and thanks for the interest in our coming range Rhelyk and I deeply apologize that the range is not yet out for sale however I am doing all I can to get them out sooner than later, and yes my hyena men will be coming up right next as well I have currently taken up digital art and I am currently working on redoing their concept art much closer too what I envision for them ;).
with best regards everyone - Shawn.

thanks for the update, just know that the faster you make them available, the faster I throw wads of digital cash in your face.
As for the project, choices are hard o_o
Just sent the Bronze Age guy an email to get the scifi ones and some of his fantasy ones as well, hopefully I will get those soon. The Cobalt ones are tempting, especially for the price and variety, but the models just aren't nearly as good as Bronze Age. I keep looking at Infinity wulver, I'll probably pick them up and use them, mixing them in with the BrinzeAge as less devolved 3rd gens. It's be a done deal, but the claymores and tartans keep giving me pause. So much potential in the Infinity stuff, but they're all so heavily Scottish that they don't work well for anything outside that theme. At least they have guns, and the wulver girl swinging the sword should convert into a mortar loader without too much hassle. 1st and 2nd gens are good to go since I already have tons of Wolfen, just need to sci-fi them up a bit, maybe GS some kneepads similar to the Bronze Age ones.
Not related to this project, but for converting wolfmen I find the Warhammer Beatsment quite neat. This is from a few years ago, he was sitting in my "some day" box. Simple conversiont to GS the mane where the horns would have been, reposition the ears and enlargen the snout and turn hooves to paws.

Black hat have the cobalt line:
So that's where the Cobalt line went... I was kinda wondering why West Wind stopped selling them.
Good, I was needing some Aruk to go with my Palansi

the not-teenwolf might be usable with some work to make it not look like a Lettermans jacket & bluejeans, but that werewolf bounty hunter is just terrible. Well sculpted model but the hat, oh god, WHY THE HAT?! combined with the pantaloons and vest and double-barreled shotgun it's a figure that has a lot of personality in all the wrong ways. It's like some high school kid won a contest and Reaper made his RPG character. Much like the scottish Infinity figs, it only works for it's very narrow intended purpose.
I do really appreciate the suggestions though. I'm always on the lookout for more figs and I do like most of Reaper's minis, they make some good regular werewolves in their dark heaven line and their Warlord Lupine line is great as well. Hopefully I'll get some work done on the other guys and have an update tonight.
