We play now Black Powder in 28 mm since a long time and we are still looking for new challenge. This time it had to be a mass game. 2500 points per side, which means over 100 battalions of infantry, 20 units of cavalry and artillery. Over all around 3800 miniatures on a desk of 2,5m + 4,5m and lasts over 7 hours.
It had really made fun but for this number of figures you have to take care of a good scenario. This time it ended in a simple but deadly confrontation.
In the end the french side did not make any victory points but finally broke in the very last round the allied army.

How Napoleonics should be played. Great game.

Fantastic looking game!
7 hours isn't very long with a game that big so I will have another look at Black Powder.
Game's that large I've done using General de Brigade take longer - about 16 hours - but there are only 2 players which does make everything slower.
Cheers,
Paul

Thanx for all your replies!

We are fast and our impatience for result speeds up the game. :-) On one hand side we are playing now bp for a long time and though we know the rules very well. On the other side we all tend to play more or less aggressive. Also in comparision to GdB BP is more simple and covers the napoleonic area not as detailed as GdB does.
Currently we are thinking about how to make scenario more interesting. We already do serveral things. Off course we have missionary goals, we have some some guidelines for the OdB, we define how and when to bring in a reserve etc. But specially for games with a bigger number of figures we are wondering for new ideas to generate a good, fair and thrilling scenarios. Do you have any suggestions
