Title: What Lurkers should I get first?

I play pulp alley so I have lots of Adventurers/Agents/heros/turncoats, a hand full of werewolves (two or three), three cultists, 2 undead cowboys and  a ghost cowboy and a some stuff that I could use for ghouls (stretching it as most are dark fey creatures). 

I don't tend to play evil well though so I am not really sure what I should buy to make a proper lurker band. I was thinking a pack of mummies and a pack of zombies from the reaper bones and the special undead from uncle mike but I don't really have my head wrapped around what makes a good lurker band.
Suggestions are welcome. What I should pick up to start?

As long as you have a few lowly cultists to make up some points (and some scenarios will require Human Lurkers...) you are free to wet your feet in the eldritch pool. I personally like Fishmen, Serpentmen and Giant Vermin...but that is only me. The great thing about the Lurkers is they are built per scenario. Allowing you to 'recruit' a new list every game!

A few 'suspiciously Asian-looking' thugs are always good for Lovecraftian racial paranoia. They always seem to be up to no good in the pre-war pulp stories.

I would echo Uncle Mike, Fishmen, Giant Vermin, Serpents, some extra cultists (variety of weapons is good).....after that maybe a large beastie like a congolomrate or something slightly higher in points but not as powerful as a werewolf. A few zombies are a good choice. After that it is up to you to fill in the blanks....

Have a look at ll the threads and AAR's on the board already and see what everyone else is using and then go and do your own thing.

Definitely cultists! Like Mike said, you need some human lurkers for the scenarios and they go with everything. After that, choose the kind of monsters that take your fancy. If you build around a theme (fishmen, undead, ghouls, etc.), you will end up with a good looking thematic force AND set yourself up for a nice cult for VUK as well.

I concur that you'll find use for a good dozen or more cultists (at surprisingly low point values) with a variety of weapons (mostly the basics, pistols or cc weapons, with a smattering of the more exotic - rifles & smgs).

A Formless Thing is handy early on as well, mainly if you roll up a Monster Attack.
