Chaps and Chapesses

Recently acquired a few Opel Blitz trucks from Westwind and I've taken a few comparison shots with a Warlord Sdkfz 222 and the Perry Plastics over on the Blog - http://offtclub.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/westwind-opel-blitz.html

Also a bit of an unboxing and building review.

Once painted I'll post up some more with pics and comparisons with a few of my gaming buddies vehicles for size comparisons

Thanks for the photos. No way in hell I'd buy those with the huge air bubbles in them.

I've just got one of those, the only air bubble that i had was in the centre of canopy where the window cover is & one of the running boards is broken.
But overall its a lovely little kit, though I did think that it was a bit small but looking at those pictures maybe not  :?

@keith - The bubbles thing was weird as they were all in the same place on each model. My only thought is that they cast to order and as such they were all done together a little too quickly? I painted them up for a Bolt Action gaming day last Sunday so I'll have some pics up of the full force shortly. They fit perfectly with my Perry Plastics when finished and only looked small when compared with some of the 1/48 stuff people were fielding. Even with the 1/56 they looked ok (even the Kubels).

I have to say I do like the solid cab rather than actual windows as I find them too fiddly and always try and put some clear plastic in for windows - it never looks right.

@pixelgeek - For the price I was more than happy, I can stand a little green stuff filling here and there if they deliver on time and overall the model is nicely detailed.

 I personally do not like solid cabs and based vehicles,but I know some wargamers do,I know it is difficult to place windows on the models it it is a complete improvisation...
 Also producers could provide slits on the vehicles to receive the plexiglass/blister plastic windows,that in turn could be planed on a drawing on the packaging to make things faster...solid cabs are less life like than their hollow counterparts.

Unless they showed a picture of the model with those air bubbles in them then I would suggest that shipping a product like that isn't ethical. It says to me that the company doesn't give a care about quality control. No excuse for casting something like that and then fobbing it off on a paying customer.
