Hi Lads,
finally it´s time to abandon my silent reading of all those interesting threads on this board and to participate in a great community.
So I am going for a Zug of german infantry supported by a few stugs on the eastern front in the years of 42-43.
These are my first steps for the Grenadiers and I hope to take you from the first humble beginnings to the finishing of that platoon.
As you see I like my little men very unique ;)
comments are appreciated!!!

... and .... sorry for me being a smart ass.
Not sure about the pic. If it violates forum rules let me know or delete it please.

Pretty sure it doesn't violate the rules provded there is no overt Nazi insignia on display.
I like the conversions on those figures :)
-
Wow, those look great!
Combination of Perry and Warlord plastics?
-
Cool miniatures and great conversions. That StuG looks like it's been through a lot of mud :)
-
Rather nice work on the infantry, the stug is rather grand.
-
Beautiful work on those. Do I see some of the Studio Miniatures German zombie legs in there too?
-
Wow, great StuG. Can't wait to see hoe your infantry build progresses.
-
Thank you for sharing your project with us. Looking forward in seeing how this develops.
Cheers,
Helen

Looking very nice so far!
What scale is the StuG? 1/56 or 1/48?
-
Thank you very much for the nice comments, to answer your questions:
@von der Tann: sorry but in this case I´ve got to be a smartass myself because I had this song right here in mind :) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDYTncBta9E
@Tomek: yes but I only use some equipement parts from the Warlord sprues, the bodies, arms and heads simply doesn´t mix very well because of the proportions. I will take a comparison pic if you like
@Cherno: AAAIIIGHT!! ;) during the research for this project I found several pics of Ostfront Stugs which were that dirty during the summer months. In fact my first dirtying was much less dirty than this dirtyness (^^) so I threw a lot of pigments and static grass onto the tracks and wheels until I was satisfied. After that I glued some hemp on to achieve the look as it has been rumpeling across the russian steppe.
@mainly28s: AAAIIGHT too!! yeah i thought why not and I still think there is a lot of potential in them, swap a leg here and there behead them and there you go :)
@stoessi: it´s a 1/48 hybrid of Tamiya, Bandai and some scratchwork. It is a shame no manufacturerer offers the F version in this scale and some experts will see the flaws I did during the construction of this but it does the job for me ;)
(I´ll see if i got a wip pic lying around here)
So thank you again and I´ll keep you updated and I hope not to disappoint you all :)

I stand corrected ... :'(

Wondered when someone would have a go at converting the Perry Afrika Korps and these look superb :) 8) and really looking forward to see your project develop further :)

That stug is...simply marvelous! :-*

Ditto "elbows" on the stug! 8)
