Hi All
I've had a set of Copplestone Castings Bio-Chemical Squad (http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/images/fw16col.jpg (http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/images/fw16col.jpg)) in my "to paint" pile for ages.
I don't fancy doing them in white as per the link nor do I like the idea of black (SAS style) but can't think of anything else. Must be a form of painters' block) :?
Have any of you more creative sorts tried any other colour schemes? Would love to see some alternative pictures.

I'm a big fan of orange for this sort of thing ;)
-
Mine are green :)
-
I was thinking of orange too or perhaps yellow and then do the stripes on the weapons white in a reverse of the link?
Green would be good as well - a real snotty/slimey green. These would all say "hazardous". Thinking of other rubber things suggested pink as in kitchen gloves but thats a no, in fact a NO.

These guys look cool:

Mine didn't.... ;)

Always get stuck in a 'delta' colour rut, but I like it!

I've seen a number of chem/bio suits in TV and movies being a light/bright blue.
-
How about taking the light/bright blue idea and making it a little turquoise like a surgeons scrubs type colour?
-
I like orange or yellow. :)
-
I did mine in orange/yellow jumpsuits with blue hoods, gloves and boots. I can't post a pic now as the stupid work pc won't let me access my photobucket account, but if I remember I'll stick one up tonight.
-
I'd always assumed they would be the same colour as the standard uniform they go over - as in the British Army's DPM NBC suits.
But, I have to admit some of the suggestions above are really intriguing and would make lovely miniatures.
"Sitting Ducks" springs to mind, however lol
-
A shiny see through plastic would look good but am not sure how to pull it off.

You wouldn't need to pull it off if you can see through it! lol
Any way, thanks one and all for your gathered wisdom. I think I will go for similar to what the other troops are are wearing - camouflage. I'll stick up a pic or two when I've finished.

Here we go, got home earlier than I thought. My CDC Response Team:

When I painted them, I had it in my head that the suits on the film Outbreak were this colour. It has since been pointed out to me that they bear no resemblance at all. lol
EDIT:
Actually, that picture's a bit crap, this one is a mite clearer:

Nope, by me ;)
Here's the article: http://www.combatzonechronicles.net/cozox/zm.htm
And here are some more pictures:

Of course these are EM4's models, with helmets rather than hoods, but the idea is the same. :)
That said, a camouflage scheme would look good for a more military type squad too. Here's another squad for inspiration: http://www.combatzonechronicles.net/cozo7/7jcnbc.htm

Sorry for the wrong reference, Pil. I was searching all over for the correct site but couldn't find it. Combat Zone Chronicles -- great site!

Pil, who makes the Zedbusters ambulane in the pictures? I have been looking for something in scale both for a hearse and a "borrowed from you idea" ambulace. ::)

No problem, enjoy reading the Chronicles! 8)
Lordblackwing> it's a "Corgi Superior Ambulance on Cadillac chassis", an old Corgi model that, like all such old diecast models, you can find for a pretty good price in a bad shape, or for heaps of money in a good shape. This one had the flashlight and battery lid missing (which is quite common for these models), and had the front tyres replaced with replicas, all of which decreased collectors value and made sure I could pick it up from ebay for 99 pence 8)
I believe Dinky Toys had a similar model but it wasn't as easy to find and fetched somewhat higher prices. Good luck finding and converting it :)

Thanks Pil, will have to search "Evilbay" and the local toy shows/swap meets. Hopefully pic's if I find one.

Lovely stuff! I like the shade of green you used for the military versions. It reminds me of one of the Vallejo olive green shades, but i can't think which one :?

Very nice, I especially like the conversions on the white team! :)
