Title: Dark Elves
Post by: killshot on January 26, 2014, 10:27:38 PM
I finished up some dark elf warriors for my ongoing LotR rule-based project.  I have 1 standard bearer, 1 armed with a sword and shield, 6 armed with repeater crossbows, and 8 armed with spears.  I'm going to included 6 more armed with sword and shields and 2 more armed with repeater crossbows.

Here's a quick shot of the Dark Elves and High Elves engaged in battle:

I don't think I've seen them painted green before. Nice work with that. :)

I dig these dark elf's, a great counter to the bright High Elf's.

Really good contrast between the two types of elves. The black and green works very well.

I also like the way you use turquoise instead of blue on the high elves, really gives you the idea that they are still connected to their dark brethren, if only by some colour choices.

The high elf banner is very nice, is it  a freehand? The dark elf one would benefit from a similar drawing, only maybe a dark green dragon, to further show how they deviate from their lighter brethren.

Thanks everyone.

The High Elf banner design is sculpted on.  My free hand skills are terrible so I didn't want to ruin the Dark Elf banner with anything.  I may go back at some point and try a design, but they'll stay black for the time being.

The Evil Elves painted up SPLENDIDLY...OUTSTANDING brushwork & color choices. The battle scene looks TERRIFIC...from my Goblin perspective, it's always terrific seeing Elves killing other Elves. VERY WELL DONE!

Thanks, DeafNala.  I plan on adding more than just elves to this ongoing project so they won't always be killing each other!

Top Notch as usual!  :-* :-* :-*

Thanks!  Are there going to be any rules about hatred in your upcoming fantasy supplement?

Nice idea.

I'll use them for Song of Blade and Heros
