As of now I am starting a new thread on my VBCW project. Lots of money spent over the weekend to gear up for this so I'll start with the vehicles I acquired...
Here's a couple but there are loads more on the blog

Loads more to come including Figure reviews, my factions, plus a new terrain build - a railway line including bridges & tunnel

Those WWII Lledo vehicles are ace. :D
There is an RAF and 8th Army set, too, and some US ones for a bit of1938/39 Lend/Lease.

VBCW is an excellent setting with some great background and supporting figures. I wrote a bit about the background to the Scottish Republic and events in the north east of Scotland for the original source books.
I drew on 16th and 17thC local history for my inspiration - battles based on actions from the civil war and wars of religion forming the basis for my games. I used a version of LotOW for small skirmishes and one of the free rules set on the old forum before it moved location. My own campaign was pretty dark though - more akin to the SCW at times than some of the lighter elements present in the background at the time - government forces carpet bombing a local village for example! But we enjoyed it greatly (the game, not carpet bombing villages!!!). I sold my collection eventually, once things had petered out and ground to a halt, some of it going overseas.
Have fun!!

Thanks Joroas for the info on other ranges - I think I have enough at present :D

Simple yet effective - bravo!

Thanks JP

Nice work there, Giles - even I could make those. I like your roads as well although your technique had me very close to manly tears. Why? Because a few years ago I thought I could do with some tarmac roads and I also used hardboard BUT I thought it would be a great idea to glue emery paper to it to give, an admittedly quite convincing, tarmac look.
Unfortunately when the glue dried (PVA as I recall) it warped the hardboard so they don't lie flat. Whereas, if I'd just used your technique and not bothered with the emery paper, all would have been well.
Damn - now you tell me....! >:(
Once again, loving the telephone/telegraph poles....

Great story Doug...I always use hard board... On occasion it does warp but a quick coat of paint on reverse side plus a heavy weight tends to sort it out

Giles - I'll try painting the back of my banana shaped roads - maybe that'll rescue them. Thanks for the tip.

Cheers Steve
See you Saturday

Looking good.
Hornby does some nice, if underscale, period road signs.
Is there any wargamer that doesn't have those versatile Conflix buildings?
-
You just need a young Elizabeth Taylor on a pony! :D
-
Damnation I forgot to add the livestock to the display
-
Looking good! How about a telephone box to keep those telegraph poles busy.
An early petrol garage might look good too, you can usually find period petrol pumps on eBay and there used to be a PMC building that would fit nicely as the garage. I'll see if I can find it.

PMC is now sold by Dave Ryan at Caliver/Partizan Press.

Blimey - that looks the business - well done, sir. It was a good day when you became tempted by VBCW...

I think we all do, really...........
