4th Armd.Brigade Shermans March '45
three British Shermans from the 3rd/4th CLY - 4th Armd.Brigade - March 1945 NWE
the choice of unit isn't perhaps the first that springs to mind when painting WW2 british shermans, but my friend Dan, his grandad served in the 53rd Welch division, who were often supported by 4th Armd. and particularly by 3/4CLY.

Wonderfull and I am sure Dan will be more than happy - if he isn't give him a good slap from me

Those Shermans are a thing of beauty! :) And the bases look quite nice!
-
Wow, very nice panzerfaust200.
-
Now if we could only see could see them through the gun-sites of a Pak 40 in ambush!
Nicely done P and very thoughtful of you to give such a gift to Dan!
-
Excellent work!
Very good for your pal to have a chum like you.
-
Excelllent work! i like how the stowed gear in each tank makes them all a little different
-
Beautifully done!

the models are all 1/72nd scale kits from Dragon, two are readymades that have had stowage thrown at them, the other is a little special... ;)
HOW TO MAKE A DECENT M4 SHERMAN (for those of you who can't wait till june o_o )
i started with a Dragon M4A2 75mm, first the distinctive M4A2 engine cover was cut out...
this will be replaced by the M4 engine cover from the Trumpeter kit (which fits like a dream)
then the welded front hoods were rounded off with a file to appear cast!
new engine deck and horrid donar hull from the Trumpeter kit with the hideous hull in background!
(inc plasticard spacer - much of which will be hidden under stowage!)
new rear hull (and the lower rear hull) taken from the M4 kit from Trumpeter
(as the Dragon M4A2 lower rear hull is distinctly different!)
Kitbashed M4 Sherman - (the Dragon M4A2/Trumpeter M4 kitbash Sherman)

by the time i'd finished stowing the tank, you can barely see all the hard work... lol!
(thanks to filipe for the stowage box on the rear hull!)
the view of the rear deck from above-ish
(http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/5193/dscf4616ho1.jpg)
and the trumpeter rear upper and lower M4 hull can be seen here!
hope that helps someone?
all this can be seen with much longer-in depth WIP stuff back on the Guild, which is my usual forum. :D

they are all different;
from left to right... M4A1 (Sherman I) M4A4 (ShermanVc) M4 (Sherman II)
you can't get more different than that! :D
