Above is a pic of the Black Tree 28mm Bren teams pack, from the Black tree website. It's a little difficult to see but the loaders are not carrying spare ammo clips like you might expect, but what appears to be an bundle of sticks or rods in a canvas cover. It isn't anything like the holdall containing cleaning kit and a spare barrel:

Does anyone have any idea what these are meant to represent? A Google image search and sites like this
http://www.canadiansoldiers.com/weapons/lightweapons/brengun.htm
didn't turn up anything like them. I had some of these figures on their own and without looking at the website I thought it looked like a bundle of explosives so I painted them in a nice dynamite sort of colour and added them to my engineer squad! I then aquired some in the blisters and realised that they went with the Bren gunners.

Perhaps the tripod mount which I believe can be used as an AA mount as well?

Looks like a thermos bottle with hot water for tea time !
Or more seriously something to carry a pigeon, as used by the signal Corps.

No idea, but this Canadian has something similar on his back.

Spare barrel and tool kit?
Edit: maybe just the tool kit?

Hi chaps
The soldier in the ww2 pic has what looks like a rolled anti-gas Cape on the top of his pack.
It kind of looks like the mini is carrying the same thing, though it's the first time I've seen one portrayed in such a way. Though it does appear to be attached to the two webbing suspender straps at mid chest, which perhaps makes it a possibility.
The BREN spare barrel bag is as shown in the parts photo above and the tool wallet was much, much smaller (being more of a wallet).
:)
EDIT: fat finger typos!

That very might be a "Bren Gun Holdall"... just badly rendered... :?
