Title: GW Spray Gun
Post by: dodge on 17 June 2008, 01:54:16 PM
I got a new toy at the weekend.

The GW spray gun.

It's ace usually takes me ages to prime basecoat figures but this weekend I nearly finished 10 mini's.  :P

Also you can put washes in it and do that too. Great for buildings and vehicles. o_o

I need a little more practice with it but overall I'm chuffed as nuts. :D

Does anyone else have this ?

If your thinking about it I like it lots.

Wow... o_o

I undercoated 85 figures last night with black spray undercoat out of a can... and a building.

Not sure I really need a spraygun for that an inflated GW prices.  ::)

I like the look of it for doing undercoat and base coat on a pile of FoW stuff..

My only worry is the cost i guess..

You have a prostigious talent for spraying there V  ;)

But with this - no smell, can do it in my study, with more control and awesome coverage (i.e once no touch up required)

With the ability to spray tanks buildings and do the washes this is pretty good and not that much more expensive than other spray guns I've seen.

Anyway it was fun and will continue to be fun. :D

Good lord I'm excited about it  :o

Had a sticker/warning missing.
Harmful or fatal if  used with non- GW paint.
Sprayguns are the exclusive IP of GW. ;)

The actual reason for recalling them is that the joint between the can-of-air-cap and the tube that attaches it to the actual spraygun may break when you use the spraygun for longer periods of time. If you use a compressor this will not happen (the metal screw that attaches it will slowly eat away the plastic around it when it cools down due to the freon).

The spraygun itself is just as good as any other badger copy, just with a different kind of trigger. Whether you are willing to pay 25€ (?) for that is up to you.

The phone has rung.
An emissary from the dark empire has offered to take my spray gun back for face value plus £10 in vouchers.

Very strange thing happened though. He said I could by a similar thing from hobby craft, which is true.

What will happen to him? Presumably when they play back his tapes he will be carted off and tortured in some dungeon.

This is what happens whn you work for the dark empire  lol

Take him up on the offer as soon as possible.
GWs' spraygun is of such a shoddy construction that dozens had their airhose and/or connector blown up just by using aircans.
Not exactly life- threatening but those plastic shards are razor sharp and could injure you.
If you were to use the spraygun next to an open flame (something you should NEVER do) it might become dangerous.

I think I will then. Funny there was nothing wrong with mine worked perfectly, but I can see the problem because the connector was made of quite soft plastic and would eventually have thread problems with the pin and can connection.

I can just imagine the poor lad though in some dank dungeon now being turned on the rack for offering an alternative.  :'(
