Does anybody know of a scale model of Cugnot's steam tractor suitable for 28mm?

Got to get the Fowler - will give the Boers a shock in historical games too!
-
For those of us in UK and Europe I just mailed an enquiry to Old Glory UK. If enough of us do that they may think about stocking this beauty!

Ditto. I've seen the original (or was it a dashed good reproduction?) in Paris, and it's impressively large.
But this armoured steam tractor is grand too. 8) 8)

I do, bought it from Ebay years ago. You can see it in action here:

I had this report but never noted the Cunot's machine.
It seems that the "exotic" science is very interesting.

I got an email back from Old Gory UK this evening. They can get hold of the Fowler engine and trailer. I have asked for them to confirm price. and will post here when I know. Then its just a case of anyone who want one wmailin Andy at OG UK to order tone (or more).#

Latast update from Andy at Old GLory UK from this morning's emails is below:
Dave On price I can only be approximate but around £27.00 inc VAT (we are a VAT registered company unlike most of our competitors) plus postage to you .
Phone in details by all means. I expect to be sending off my next order to the USA in mid July for delivery in August though they are not good at deadlines thse yanks so I can’t be more specific than that I’m afraid.

Its a tough call on whether to order direct from the States. I assume looking at the dollar exchange rate you could expect to get it for £17 plus delivery. I reckon that might still work out cheaper than £27 plus his postage and packaging charge.

Thanks Rudi - nice model, that. 8) 8) 8)

You're right, Sir, certainly at the present rate of the dollar (and if customs don't catch you lol). However, for these small private shipments, they only charge 10 Euro/parcel in this country (Belgium).
I certainly don't want to start an argument about this, but USD 35 = GBP 17 (minus 40-60% trade discount to OG UK...) + bulk transport + VAT. He should be able to make a better price IMHO.

Certainly looks like ordering direct to the US is the best deal on the face of it - provided you don't get stung by UK customs when it comes into the country :(
Here is some minformation on the historical version, the Fowler armoured road train:

Looking at the OG model, I think that the wheels are going to have to be replaced, as well as some armour added to the wagon sides. Other than that this model looks to be very close to the original.
-
Sweet!! I've got to get one of those. I've just the spot for it in my office.
