Title: WIP 15mm wooden barn for modern / sci-fi updated 24/02/14

Hi,


I've just started scratch building a wooden barn for my modern and low tech sci-fi games, trying to keep it generic but I've been looking at Southern Russia / Caucasus for ideas. The original inspiration comes from [url ="http://sippinonpaintwater.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/guuseprian-farm-houses.html"]this post[/url].

This is my first scratch build for over 15 years and I'd forgotten how satisfying it was building something from scratch.

I really like that - simple and versatile. Look forward to seeing the finished product.

Thanks Cory. I'm quite happy with it so far, just making it up as I go along with what I have at hand. I'm trying to give it a bit of a shabby look, easy to do with my modelling skills. lol.

Planning is something that happens to other people, much more fun doing it this way.

I managed to get a roof put on it tonight.

Hoping to have it painted up by next week then maybe make a few smaller farm houses.

Just finished this last night after an hour or two every other night over the space of a week. Hopefully the first of many scratchbuilds, really enjoyed building this.

And that is worth waiting for - a really nice piece. Only suggestion I would make is add some junk - places like that always seem to have something laying around.

Nice balsa work Solo, it looks spot on.

For Russia or post apoc, it needs more rust ;) perhaps add a little streaking of burnt sienna to the roof, and a little dripping down the walls where it's the worst?
