A commission job here. A box of mean zeds to repaint. Here are the first 10 models (almost finished).

I'll do better photo's later. My dodgy lighting and haste to take a pic has washed out the girl's nose.
Just as a comparison, here's what some of the models looked like originally.

I've got a bunch of weapon guys like the green zed to do and there are also a few bigger battlesuit types.

Outstanding! I have the Oni army box and every once in a while think about getting read of it. I think I will hold on a little while longer.
Great paint job!

You should start thinking about painting them instead. :-)

They are very valuable, my set went for over £200 last month. ;D
-
ooh, lovely work on those!

Still working my way through these deaders. I think the big guy is a great model.

Just a few more to do now.

I really wish I'd picked these up when I had a chance! Fatastic paints. :)
-
I don't like the models, but that is some excellent painting!
-
Superb painting!! :)

I've always wondered why Rackham made such great miniatures and continues to flop on every game setting they try...AT43 had some brilliant models.
-
Very nice work again! Big motivation boost for me to get mine out!

IMO the whole pre-painted thing kept many away.
Maybe at some day someone buys the range and brings them out unpainted...

I think AT-43 was a quite successful although expensive venture but it was taking Confrontation into PPP that screwed Rackham totally. Again an expensive project but also perhaps a bit of backlash from a customer base that was founded on painting and modelling their metals and some retailers felt shafted apparently and refused to stock the PPP game. I ordered some left over Rackham stuff from a retailer a couple of years ago and their web page still had the explanation posted as to why they would not be stocking 4th edition Confrontation. They felt Rackham had killed their old product lines over night and left them with a lot of stock they'd just bought that was not going to sell.
-
Shame, regardless. I really liked the old Rackham metals I had back in the day...should have kept some.
-
Top stuff as usual.
-
£20 odd for 6 plastic human figures (albeit pre-painted) probably didnt help much either, the AT43 stuff was priced too high for what it was for a large chunk of the range.
-
Very nice brushwork. For the life of me, I can't capture that subtle palette, those matte/luminous color schemes.
I enjoyed my AT-43 figs but do miss my metal Wolfen. Easy come, easy go. Life goes on.

I remember reading a quote from Paolo Parente in a Dust e-zine that the master molds for AT-43 were at risk of being destroyed for lack of any potential buyer and the space they take up in the Chinese manufacturing building. The company that manufacturers the Dust figures previously produced AT-43. If the molds have been, or will be destroyed I don't think AT-43 will rise from the grave, which would be a shame. I liked them enough to buy 5 different armies... although I missed out on ONI! :'(

Not really why i have trouble believing a Chinese company would throw out molds instead of using them and repopulating the market under Made in China label. I know a few Chinese knockoffs that are out there.

I contacted the company that currently holds the right to at-43.they gave me a stock response that they'd been giving everyone for the past few years.AT-43 is never coming back in afraid, at least not using the same moulds and not until someone buys it.
It's basically just something that got lumped in with the rights to confrontation to make some last money for the poor chaps at rackham.

I only recently found about about AT-43 through some friends. The ONI would definitely have been my army of choice, but being the last release before Rackham crashed, the figures are expensive and nigh-impossible to find. I'll likely have to build my own (some day).
In the meantime, I can enjoy looking at great work like this. They paint you've done on these figures really makes them look top-notch!

Looks like I'm just in time with this lot then!

It's taken a while to get them all done and I'm hoping I don't have to paint anything grey for a bit. ;)

If I could afford you, you'd be my painting whore of choice, alas, I am but a poor wastrel who'll have to be content with the mini-porn you post on these hallowed pages. lol
Top Job, love your greys and blacks.

Great job. :)
