Title: Vehicles for vbcw
Post by: chrisw on February 21, 2014, 07:19:38 PM
Am giving serious thought to vbcw being my new project for the year and am investigating various aspects of it. Are there any threads about suitable vehicles? Also are matchbox models of yesteryear in scale for 28mm as if they are they seem a good starting point for some conversions. And cheap :)

Has it been commented on before that the auto correct for vbcw is vice? So not so much starting a new period as a new addiction. That's encouraging........

Search for "vbcw vehicles" in Google. First page even has a few member's blogs.

Pretty much any WWI and interwar vehicle - it's a fun genre where nearly anything goes!

Hi CHris

I to have started the VBCW bug and had the same question as you...

I have found the lledo models of yesteryear are a good size for 28mm (some might say they are a little small)

Photos can be found on my blog - just google Shedwars and hit the vbcw tab.

I am currently putting together a list of armour but the best sources appear to be

Warlord games
Coppplestone
Empress
Caliver (the old PMC range)

Good luck

There are also the Matchbox models of Yesteryear, but some might say those are a little too big instead.

I have tried both Lledo, which seem slightly too small, and Matchbox MOY, which do appear slightly too big in some cases and perfect in others, and eventually went with Matchbox as I prefer the look.
Once a figure is based I think it works better with the larger cars.
There is also a larger range of Matchbox and they are easier to get hold of.

Here are a few of my vehicles with a Pulp Figures Cultist for scale....there are quite a few examples over several pages....

...and more on these next few pages...

Hope that helps you decide.

I have found the Matchbox Crossley to be the best "all around interwar" vehicle and prices are very low 1-2 GBP
