Title: Hello from Virginia

Hello all.  I've been a long time lurker and have now decided to join in the fun.  Due to real life commitments, I've been on a bit of a painting and gaming hiatus the last couple of years, but seeing all the fine work here has inspired me to get back at it again.

I started playing board games in the early 70's when my friend and I played some of his dad's Avalon Hill games; Tactics II was the first.  A few years later I also started playing D&D (whitebox) with another friend, and quickly added other RPG's to the mix (EPT and Traveller being among my all time favorites).  Except for a brief flirtation with miniatures in the late 70's I played mainly board games and RPG's up until the early 90's.  Since then, I've been primarily focused on toy soldiers.  I'm mostly into historical gaming, but I also have a fair amount of fantasy and sci-fi.

I have a garage that's full of toys; and I hope to get to working on some long neglected projects soon!
