Started a victorian semi detached build inspired by Thunderchicken and others.
Just the basic shell done at the moment front and bay windows not glued in place yet.
-
Fantastic work there! That looks pretty spot on.
-
Great start, I will keep an eye on your progress
-
Looks great. Thunderchicken inspires a lot of us in these projects. Richard

Great start! The forms look sound already!

Thanks for nice comments. Done a bit more waiting for delivery of my brick sheets before I can get much further along. All ideas or criticism welcome.
-
Great start. I really like the bay windows technique...any tutorials on how you did them? Thanks in advance, and thanks for sharing your project ideas.

Those windows are bayriffic! Almost architectural, they are. Well done!

I drew ones just like this in CAD based on some elevations and plans I found online. Did you build from plans or just from photos/local influence? I was thinking of sending the plans to Warbases to cut but seeing yours I'm thinking a foam core trial would be good. Another 'nice' from me on the windows.

Love those bay windows!!
-
Thanks again although there's still time for me to mess it up!
The bay windows were local influence when I was just walking round looking for inspiration as to what type of building I would have a go at. Still not decided whether to give them flat or tiled roofs walking around seemed fifty fifty. I basically decided on my window size and based the size off them. I didn't know how I was going to do it so I drew it onto card scored it in the places it either side of middle window, bent into angle I wanted pushed it against front of the house and base and marked where it would go. Then did exactly same thing using thin plastic card, cut out windows, used thin strips to make window. Put a floor and roof on to strengthen and hold shape. I'll post sizes later.

Bay windows sizes. Height 5cm with 1cm top and bottom making windows 3cm.
Width middle 3cm sides 2cm.

Looking good. I shall be following this thread with interest.
-
Small update. Bay windows one with net curtains (bandage) and one with curtains plastic. And the two doors for the outside toilets the painted walls will be covered with brick sheet painted just to help me painting the doors, not sure why that helped but there you go.
-
Looking good Shane! :-*
Those bay windows are the business. Looking forward to the next update.
-
Brick sheets came today so I got cracking on one of the windows. Not 100% happy with my brick painting efforts but happy overall with how it looks.
-
Looking good. :-* The bay window brickwork looks well in isolation and it will be interesting to see the facade of the house when completed. The trick will be to capture that grimy and atmospheric Victorian era feel without making it too dark.
-
Not 'arf bad so far, boyo.
-
Worked a bit more on the front of the house, windows and doors to be added also started the front yard.
-
A penny Farthing made from wire handle bars and seat to do. Going to put this in one of the back yards.
-
Been a while but made a little progress on this.
Any advice on roof tiles?

This is an awesome looking project!

Great stuff :)

Thanks although this build as been brought forward seventy years to the 1970s for my Aggro/1970s table
-
Lovely work, those windows are nice.
-
Excellent. Great shape, too. That's exactly what my table needs. Although, I'm a bit scared to start something like that.
It will also make an excellent terrace, if you put several together (no pressure!).
What are you planning on roofing it with?
-
This is really starting to come together.

Seconded.
The Oshiro tile sheets are excellent.
A great choice.

At the moment the roof is either going to be oshiro roof tiles and making something myself.
I think the next terrace houses will be a more straight forward design.
