Looking for a mini, or suitable substitute for an AA-12 shotgun. It is for a 28mm project. This is what I am looking for.
-
Doesn't have to be a perfect match, just close enough that a little hack and slash w/putty can make it serviceable.
-
maybe this...too SF ?

You know, I was thinking of those, but I thought they were a Max-Mini item! No wonder I couldn't find them! lol If nothing else, pops up, these are a good starting point. Thanks for the link. :)

I know for a fact that a metal sprue of 28mm AA12s exists, I had a blister years ago but sold it. Must've been EM4, Hasslefree, Copplestone or something like that.
I think that pack also included a pistol, MP5, and maybe an M16.
It was a white metal like the one Reaper uses.
-
Thanks for the tip. I'll keep looking.

Hasslefree's Modern trooper range has a figure with a USAS-12 shotgun, which would make a good start. It comes separately to the torso with the arm attached.
-
The more I think about it the more I get the feeling that the one I had in mind wasn't the AA-12 but rather a vaguely similar looking gun with a bullpup configuration.
-
Thanks Carlos. The USAS-12 will work just as well. Didn't realize Hasslefree made one.
-
The Hasslefree one comes in 4 poses as well if I recall check in the 'modern trooper' section
-
Thanks. Will do.

It looks like an over-sized MP5 with a drum mag to me.
-
Yeah, it does a little, but this fugly fires 3 inch 12GA rounds at the rate of 300 rounds per minute! :-* It can take 8 round box magazines, 20 round or 32 round drums.
-
It looks like an over-sized MP5 with a drum mag to me.
More like an oversized AR-15 with a drum mag.
Since it's almost completely encased in the plastic casing with very little exterior detail, this probably wouldn't be too bad to sculpt yourself. Brass rod for the barrel, plasticard triangles for sights a build the rest from greenstuff -- or just thicker plasticard. If it's being wielded, the hand hides the pistol grip, which is the most complex form on the thing.
Any single-piece casting is going to have a too small drum magazine.
-
Though I was hoping for an AA-12 mini, the USAS-12 will work just as well. Since Hasslefree has multiple minis with USAS-12s to choose from, why recreate the wheel? I think I'll just be lazy and by one of theirs (they make awesome minis anyway!). If someone does know of a mini with an AA-12, by all means, let me know.
-
The Eureka contractor set has a chap with what could be an AA-12 or derivative - I'm not expert enough on modern small-arms to tell, alas. :'(
-
It's "just" and AK with drum magazine.
But if you'd cut the top to get the stock and the rest of the gun in a horizontal line, fill in the stock, reangle the drum (if picky), that is probably your best bet.
This is honestly 5 minutes work if you want this weapon so much. Easier than getting a gun and converting hands to make a miniature hold one.

I'll take a look at the Eureka mini. Thanks guys.
