Title: Statuesque Asylum opens its doors
Post by: Andrew Rae on February 24, 2014, 11:25:04 AM
Hi folks,

In addition to the Pulp Alley miniatures (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=63790.0) you may have seen posted by Wolf Girl, Statuesque is also launching our Statuesque Asylum (http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/c/4519600/1/statuesque-asylum.html) pulp horror range.

First up is little Lillie Poots (http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/p/8779654/sa001-lillie-poots.html). Bravely venturing in the the darkness armed only with her grandmother's lantern, Lillie has a starting role in the range and the story that will unfold.

Lillie Poots (http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/p/8779654/sa001-lillie-poots.html) is priced at £3.50.

Escaping through the gates of Statuesque Asylum are the Frothing Loonies (http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/p/8779655/sa002-frothing-loonies.html)! These crazed individuals are the unfortunate victims of Dr Strukov's nefarious surgical experiments and they roam the wards and grounds of Statuesque Asylum, a danger to all they meet.

The Frothing Loonies (http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/p/8779655/sa002-frothing-loonies.html) are priced at £10.50 for three figures with six, poseable head options for greater variety, and are available from the Statuesque Miniatures webshop.

Finally, for a limited time only you can get Lillie and two sets of Frothing Loonies for only £21 with the Lillie Poots Versus the Frothing Loonies Special Offer (http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/p/8779949/sas-lillie-poots-versus-the-frothing-loonies.html), saving £2 over buying the items separately. This offer will run until 3rd of March or while stocks last.

How do these size up with ranges like Artizan, etc.? They look very useful for Pulp, horror and even sci-fi.

I don't have any Artizan but I do have some Copplestone. Comparison pics can be found down the page here: http://khorosho-productions.blogspot.co.uk/p/comparison-photos.html (http://khorosho-productions.blogspot.co.uk/p/comparison-photos.html)

Hope that helps! :)

Edit: Here a pic by David showing Phantom Ace with various manufacturers (the Asylum figures are scaled/proportioned the same as the Pulp Alley figures): http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=63790.msg769073#msg769073 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=63790.msg769073#msg769073)

Thanks for that. They look like they should fit in just fine.

Can they be ordered from Pulp Alley in the US?

The Loonies are only available through Statuesque. David wanted to focus on the Pulp Alley range for the time being, though he is stocking Lillie Poots.

I do like these Loonies. What else have you got planned in this range?

Lots! :D Though it's going to take time to get through it all. Doctor Strukov needs to make an appearance and I've got a sinister nun to finish too. I'd also like to do 'specialist' loonies- more individual with different roles in a game. I also need to do some gallant protectors for Lillie (who will be 'good' patients of the Asylum) and some investigator. Gonna take a while!

Sounds great. I'm looking forward to seeing all of these. No serious gamer can be without a 'sinister nun', I want that one (I want them all actually)!

They certainly look like Frother's Loonies (or how I imagine the denizens of those fora to look).  Especially the open back robes.  :D

Last call for the Lillie Poots Vs the Frothing Loonies Special Offer! It ends tonight, along with the reduced price on Pulp Girl and Phantom Ace.

http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/c/4510085/1/special-offers.html (http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/c/4510085/1/special-offers.html)

Thanks for all the orders that have come in already. I ended up posting most of them early as I realised I'd be spending all today in the Post Office otherwise. Sales of the Loonies have been good so now I'm thinking I need to open a female ward! :D

Right, ordered both special offers. I wasn't aware I needed half a dozen frothing loonies, but apparently I do.  :D

(Also, holy heck has the Canadian dollar taking a hammering vs the UK pound recently. It's almost back to the bad old days of "double everything then add 25-50%"...)
