Hi gang
One month to go for Hotlead. So far I've got a record of SEVENTY-TWO participation games scheduled plus 5 DBA tournaments. Looks like it's going to be a bang up year and full of excitement. Naval, air and SF games are well represented, plus some big Napoleonic and ancient battles. Find out more at www.hotlead.ca
If you want to promote your club, please do so by all means. Wear your club tee-shirts. If it doesn't take up too much floor space a club banner by your games is cool too. You might want to have some flyers to hand out from your game as well. Space at the front desk is pretty limited though, Elizabeth needs room to work. Some of you will have noticed that when a game is put on as a club effort I do put the club name in the game description.
Also Rick and Joe at the Bring and Buy would like to remind everyone to USE THE OFFICIAL HOTLEAD BRING AND BUY SHEET. (Find it here http://www.hotlead.ca/HLGames-Saturday.htm ) It keeps life simple for them, and the B&B is hectic enough. Also boxes of figures being sold singly will be turned away. Please group them into lots that can be sold for $5 or $10 each.

Only 3 weeks now.
I've gone and booked a room for Friday night so hopefully I can get a game or two in on Friday than scour the bring and buy!

Friday is becoming busier and busier every year, check www.hotlead.ca for the games listing. I count 13 games listed, not including any pick up games that are run on the fly. I can recommend Mongols & Mausers being run by LAFs very own Viper4Dan, be prepared to wear a hat though :D
If I get the chance I intend to run a beginners game of X-Wing on Friday and maybe Saturday night too.
Perhaps we all need to be wearing LAF badges so we know who we all are!!

Ugh, I'm just not going to be able to make this one guys. Neither GO nor Greyhound even seem to have direct service to Stratford anymore.

That was the original intention, but the roads are just too winter'd up at the moment. We need a good rainstorm or two and some consistently-above-0 weather.

I asked around and VIA was generally agreed to be the best option, but the only trains running yesterday were a single Toronto-to-Stratford run that would have arrived close to 1:30 in the afternoon, and a single return Stratford-to-Toronto run close to 6pm.
$30+tax each way (so over $70 by the time all was said and done), just to stay for only 3 or 4 hours would have required a stronger desire to attend than I was posessed of.
It's honestly not a big deal - there'll be other conventions.
