Title: Musketeer Miniatures Sub-Roman Bors
Post by: Mitch K on 28 February 2014, 08:13:16 PM
Just finished this. I'm happy with the result, and I'd recommend the miniature without reservation.

Another fine piece by Musketeer and excellently painted too! However, I thought that he was Tristan and Bors was the burly bloke in the same pack. I guess it all depends on how we picture the characters (particularly from Bernard Cornwell's novels)

EDIT: Judging by the way the pack is named, in hindsight, I guess the names and figures are ordered respectively, meaning that I was totally wrong! lol

Thanks everyone! They're magic figures, these, and I can see me buying a lot more, whether I need them or not!

Excellent painting. Very moody.  I am hoping that SAGA will bring out some Romano-British boards which will encourage me to buy some of these excellent figures. :D

Lovely figure Mitch! Your paintwork really brings it to life.
And you're right, those Musketeer figures are very, very addictive.

Nicely done Mitch. I recently painted him myself, and am indeed now quite addicted to painting these... Such a pleasure to work on - although I'm finding the small Saxon bucklers a bit darn fiddly...

Richard, decals are your friend. I can freehand a dragon like that one, but not in that size. I have to work large and shrink it by computer! lol

This one has a GB plastic shield. I wanted a decent sized bit of shield art for this one. The one provided is really quite tiny. I'm going to add it to the other figure from the pack, who is a lot larger - it'll look like he's protecting himself with a pie dish rather than a shield!

Johnno, they're ace. GB bring the Musketeer range with them to shows. It took all my willpower to not buy the whole blooming lot!
