The rulebook states that different levels of terrain may affect movement and to see P4.1. But 4.1 doesn't really clarify what penalties if any apply to models on foot.
My question is if the Difficult Terrain is grade 3 does that mean minus 3" off of the models movement stat, grade 2 would be -2" and grade 1 would be -1".
Any help appreciated.

That's the way we play it.

That's probably a good default starting point. But with such a huge variety of potential terrain types in a game like this, probably best to define terrain as it's laid out. For instance, soft sand or thick mud may have a severe movement penalty, a moderate hand-to-hand penalty (poor footing) but provide no cover against shooting.
Have fun with it!

That is indeed correct :)

Thanks for all the responses, ran ademo game at the Sunday club today and I gathered another couple of players, hopefully it'll become a regular game cause I really like how the game plays.
