Didn't know about those. I do watch Shaun of the Dead occationally.. great fun! And I also have some of the Resident Evil DVDs.
Fujnny thing is, I never watched zombie films until I started zombie gaming lol

I've found that the more zombie films I watch the more I zombie game and the more I zombie game the more zombie films I watch! lol
Hell is a really good German post apoc / cannibals film albeit it lacks zombies
Extinction: The G.M.O. Chronicles is a German zombie movie that IIRC ends in a castle and also considers the effect on nuclear reactors of an absence of power for cooling (something most post apoc movies/games - even my own! - tend to overlook)
There are a few more winter ones listed on one of my project pages

I do find that the European movies tend to make me think more: maybe it's because I have to read the sub titles.......

Cool.
I'm used to read subtitles - living in one of the smaller European countries - but understand/speak english and German well enough to watch movies without.

I'll third that recommendation its hilariously awesome.

I have to recommend Bio Zombie, one of the few movies I'd ever recommend watching with the English dub. Not the classic zombie flick, but hilarious nonetheless. :)
-
I would say watch Fido (a boy and his zombie), but you may wind up stitching together 50's suburbanite zombies with pipes sticking out of their mouths and jaunty angles and arming up your Survivors as Boy Scouts with Lee Enfield rifles. ;)

fourthed! :D

How about 'Living Dead at Manchester Morgue' it's an over looked classic imo.
Checking on IMDB it's original title was 'Let Sleeping Corpses Lie' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071431/?ref_=ttrel_rel_tt

I really liked both dawn of the dead, original and remake , both entertaining films
