Title: Peter Pig Longship

I just finished up a Peter Pig Viking Longship.    I wanted to use the more traditional red and white striped sails but my printer ran out of ink half way through the sheet.  Peter Pig provides 8 printer ready designs and a sheet of 4 blank ones.  They are a bit harder to find on their website.  You can find the links to the sails on this page: http://www.peterpig.co.uk/rules-longships.htm (http://www.peterpig.co.uk/rules-longships.htm)

I plan on using this for my Early Saxons with Dux Britanniarum.  I want to get the Peter Pig rowed version.  I am also thinking of picking up a Saxon Knaar from Old Glory shipyards as well.  Ultimately a fleet of about 4 or 5 ships would be ideal.  Anyway, I posted a question on my blog on if I should add rigging or not.

Chris, if it's PP, I guess it's 15mm? If so, then it's incredibly impressive. I love longships andhave to fight to resist building one. Now you've succumbed, I have less excuse to not follow!

Definitely 15mm.  They do have some 1/600 scale longships too.  They have them for a campaign part of their rules.  Those could be interesting as well.  i am also interested in some coracles for my 1/2 cooked Pict army.

Yes they are.  I am really happy with this one.  I can't wait to get my mitts on the rowed one.

Hello all

Cstoesen, you should see also the Essex miniatures longship. Its also very good and you can buy rowers appart or together.
Also their dark ages range will provide you with a lot of very nice figures.

Essex does have a Viking ship or two - but they are very, very small.  They are nice models but maybe 4" long tops, if that.  I do own some but they are a fraction of the size of the others I own (not painted yet).

They are small indeed.  Just 8 crew in total.  I will probably stick with Peter Pig an possibly Old Glory.
