Title: Gypsies - any new(er) sculpts out there?
Post by: Argonor on 06 March 2014, 08:34:47 PM
I know of the West Wind Vampire Wars gypsies, and I have the Black Cat tavern dancer/gypsy girl, but are there some other 'romas' out there?

And how about gypsy wagons, does anyone know of some nice models? I have seen the Sarissa version, but I'm not sure about that one.

These questions are, of course, derived from a sidetrack to one of my current projects.... suffice to say: 'Witches' Coven guards, Vampire minions, Pulp sinister adversaries'.  >:D

Any pointers as always received with thanks  :)

EDIT:

I didn't make this completely clear, but I'm after the whole package (women, men, children), so that a gypsy camp can be established. Armed/unarmed.

Reaper has a couple of options: Harrower (60059/a gypsy girl) from their Patherfinder line and Dandy Franchesca (3376) from their Dark Heaven Legends line.  Franchesca has several options for things she can be holding (a sword, a pistol and a bottle).

I forgot to mention that I have a picture of Francesca in the tavern scene of my Pirate Gallery.  She is on the left side of pic 25 at www.warin15mm.com/Pirates.html

The old Ravenloft ones are top notch, but hard to get. Evilbay is the best bet.  THE CID.

If you see them, buy them quick, because they do travel.

More villagers than Roma, these might be still of interest from Blue Moon Manufacturing:

A couple of those could be pressed into service as travellers, but it's a bit of a big set to buy for that. I may consider them when I reach the point where I need more civilians to populate the table, though  :)
