Ladies and gentlemen,
This mighty warmachine is the state of the art in prussian military technology.
This particular awe-inspiring beast is called the Fafnir-Version of the first production line of Kaiser Wilhelm Walkers.
The features include the MkI legs which will soon be replaced by a new version on the MKII and a devastating flamethrower.
-
It's... It's... Aliiiive! :o
Seriously though what an excellent piece of work. You really have to share how you made it.
-
german technology ?
ya :D
-
The making of this walker was a bit complicated.
The Torso is made of a multivitamin pills tube. Then some plastic card + cut brass nails for the rivets.
The little windows are from a cut ballpoint pen , the tip was used for the flamethrower + GW bit, another one was used for the smokestack and the front window.
The legs, the back hatch and the joints for the arms are from GW Orc Killa Kan.
The arms are modified from GW grey knights Dread Knight.
The wheel is from the Stephensons Rocket from Matchbox.
Some minor parts , Reviresco , Brigade Games VSF bits, brass wire.

Nice build.
:-*
A 'proper' VSF look, that is.

Agreed :)

I wanted to be as near to the original on the front cover of IHMN as possible.
The legs were the biggest problem and the slightly conical shape of the body on the cover.
I think the rest is ok ;)
-
Well you have done a mighty fine job indeed, and it shall be an inspiration to many others I am sure! :D
-
Nice build and nice paint job. Really has the look of cast-iron (may a hint of rust). And has that VSF look.
-
Cool.
One thing I'd suggest is adding a smaller wheel lower on the body so you can run a belt between the two and give that big one a purpose.
-
It seemed well and fitting...

Great work! Inspirational.

Excellent build. One of the most 'Victorian' VSF walkers I've seen :-*
-
I am inspired, sir!
-
Wow :o :o :o What else can one say?
Seriously excellent build.

As requested a scale comparison pic with my Ottoman Counter Intelligence Service.
I personally I didn`t like the high technology level and the janissaries in the original list.
I built my own list with a german liason officer and a shady character with the bad guy of indiana jones in mind (little monkey's are awesome).
The rest is based on turkish policemen around the 19th century. Btw. thank you all for the compliments, I really appreciate that.
-
Wow! The comparison photo shows the MkI to be quite stunningly imposing---perhaps it should have the Terrifying Talent! :o
Now you reveal your most excellent Ottomans: it just keeps getting better! As to the shady character with the monkey, does he have a poisoned weapon? Or does he just do dates? lol
Seriously, did the character-with-monkey come that way, or was it a conversion? I love the figure! He is a character with a lot of, well, character.
-
He has a poisoned sabre :) The figure is from the foundry darkest africa zanzibaris characters set.
-
"One-Eyed Abdul" from the old DA20 characters pack (My old Foundry Victoriana book/catalogue still gets a look at now and then). Great work on the group by the way....

Excellent company there. Shall we see a list soon?
-
Your wish is my command.
-
Just a wild and wacky thought about about old One-Eyed Abdul and his monkey: You could turn the monkey into a simian version of a Clockwork Hound (HVF, p 6).
I'm jus sayin'.... ;)
-
That is exactly how I play it ;)

An excellent looking band. Very evocative.
