Lovely stuff Tom- I do wish that I'd been able to get down there and rioll some dice. Thankfully I didn't pay for a ticket this time though :).
After many a month of mostly inaction and worry I'm finally very busy again 8). Somewhat ironically the reason why I couldn't make it down.

I'll second Tom's review of the day, cracking time with good folks rolling dice. I would have done a write up myself however I was busy cheering, then crying, as all manner of weird things happened to my lovely Saxons.
I do believe the terrificallyorganisationallyfying (its a word!) Mr Scrivs is to run another day towards the end of the year, El Cid I think he said. Be good to see you there Darrell!
-
What an excellent sounding day! Wish I could have made it along. I may well try to get to any El Cid event that Mr Scrivs organises later in the year.

It does indeed sound very, very tempting! :)

You were missed! Try to make the next one :). I'd forgotten how much I like WAB, but remembered how to play pretty quickly.

Nice to know that I was missed :) I was at a music festival in London all day, which is why I couldn't make it. It has to be something pretty important for me to miss an Age of Arthur or El Cid gaming day! :D

Ah, leather trousered rock in London or toy soldiers in a shed in Mansfield.
The eternal dilemma.

I know which one I'd chose, given the choice, and it doesn't involve the precursors to air guitar!! lol
However, Andy is quite passionate about his heavy metal (the give away is in his forum name o_o) so I don't blame him really. Id it were a punk festival I might not be seen for rolling dice for love nor money (depending on who was playing of course!)

Not I, well not anymore.... practically straight edge!! Seriously!!
Darrell. XXX :)

Ah, but you see, you are all slightly mistaken...it was actually a Country Music festival...
There...that surprised y'all didn't it..?
Still, there was much guitar playing of exceptional quality...
..with a 'Yee' and indeed a 'haw'...
:D lol lol

Well, I've got to admit, I didn't expect that! lol lol
I trust you had fun despite the lack of guitarism?
Darrell.

At the risk of turning this into a music thread...
Yes, I had an absolute ball, thank you. I've listened to a lot of contemporary Country music (not the 'yeehaw' traditional old stuff) since the mid 1990s alongside all the rock stuff...there are many parallels...
And there was LOADS of guitar going on - as much cool soloing as you'd get at a rock gig!
Just YouTube 'Brad Paisley' and then be open mouthed at the jaw-dropping dexterity and speed of his playing! A true guitar hero in every sense of the word!
And it's nice to know that I'm not quite as predictable as you all thought! You never know - I might even be playing wargames involving a period after 1200AD before you know it!!!! ;)

I hide one of my vices in the cellar, but it's quite small. The main one is in the shed under a pile of wood shavings...
