The three leagues have closed in on the German agent, Seigfried Grunstrasse. But what are they going to do with him? Some want him dead, some want him to live to fight another day.
At the beginning of this scenario, each player opened a sealed envelope which told them their mission. Each player could be told to kill Grunstrasse or to ensure that he gets off the board safely. So, we could have three assassins or three paranoid protectors or something in between...
Apologies for the patchy photo quality. The colour change halfway through could be the result of a sudden dust storm, or the need to use a camera phone after the camera battery died!
Grunstrasse's chaffeur awaits.

The escape route. Grunstrasse must exit off the top of the board.

The leagues begin converging on the escape route: spies in the foreground, SLIME (Secret League of Infamy, Mayhem and Evil) in the background.

And the Metrobots behind SLIME.

The black cat makes the baby bots pause for thought.

But combat is joined soon enough. You can see multiple combats as the leagues jostle for the best vantage point on the car. At this point we still had no idea who was an assassin and who was a protector.

The car rolls towards the mess. At this point, SLIME (the cultists, lead by the man in the white coat) took a pot shot at the car. One assassin revealed!

Dust storm time. The Metrobots continued their unhealthy vendetta against Jorge, the inquisitive monkey.

SLIME shoot down Grunstrasse's bodyguard (also travelling in the car).

But one of the cultists doesn't dodge out of the way quite quickly enough.

SLIME attempts some Archduke Ferdinand action, but fails.

By now it's clear that SLIME is the only league attempting to kill Grunstrasse. As the car pulls towards the safety...
...there's one more attempt on Grunstrasse. Stahlmask races towards the car and levels his Schmeisser at Grunstrasse...
...he pulls the trigger and...

...click, click...Grunstrasse zooms to safety!
A fun game, although the assassins were up against it. One of the players suggested a third mission could have been thrown into the mix - capture Grunstrasse. I think that would have spiced things up nicely, adding a higher level of uncertainty.

A nice looking game with a twist..... A nice alternative to Plot Points. :D

Awesome AAR! I really like the way this scenario played and your cool special rules. :-*
Thanks for sharing your cool battle report! ;)

What a great game, really good idea for a scenario!
SLIME (Secret League of Infamy, Mayhem and Evil)
lol lol lol brilliant! lol lol lol
-
What a hilarious game! Brilliant stuff with great twists on the rules. These have been great to read.
-
A wonderful AAR! :-* I love the SLIME league name! lol
-
AND it's nice to see the infamous Black Cat makes a return! lol lol
-
Thanks everyone. We do really enjoy the adaptability of the rules. This game was much more combat oriented, but it still worked well because the objective wasn't just to kill each other.
-
Another great AAR!
You're really making me want to paint up the little cat mini I have, as well as make some buildings like that. I have a whole 20mm middle eastern village, but they're just a tad small for 28mmish folks.
Thanks for posting.
-
You must do the cat! Quickest thing I've ever painted, and the amount of frustration and mirth that little beastie has produced already in just the few games we've used it in.
And the buildings are worth it - relatively quick and easy, and you can make quite diverse tables. Myself, I've got to do more non-urban terrain so I can run some out-of-town games.
Bill.

Another nice Pulp Alley AAR!
I think the third option (CAPTURING Grunstrasse) will add TONS of fun and uncertainty to the game.
Thanks for sharing.
-
Fantastic AAR! :-* :-*
We may have to steal some of your building designs! ;)
THANKS for posting.
-
I stole some of yours, so go ahead!

Great AAR. Looks like a fun scenario. Just picked up a copy of PA and am anxiously looking forward to pulling out the pulp minis and experimenting.
