Here are the latest greens from the extremely talented Matthew Bickley. :)
He has done it again in recreating the character of the period. ;D
More Texian civilains fighting for independence from Mexico in 1836.
These will be appearing in the Boot Hill Miniatures online shop very soon.

Apologies for some of these images not being crisp enough, I took them at 07.30 this morning without my glasses on! lol

Lovely models, May get a few for a Posse in Masons Upsheet Creek BLAM game.
Any possible excuse to buy a few of these will do. :D
-
Fantastic stuff. Bags of character. I suppose now I'm building myself an adobe town these will be even harder to resist or make excuses for not getting them.
-
Very nice miniatures. Matthew has really captured the period in question.
Cheers,
Helen
-
Tremendous, peachy even!!
There must be some crossover potential for use later in an IHMN or EotD team with some of these too.
-
Ooooh!
Lovely sculpts.

-
Well, I do like those and only wish I could justify a few myself...Well done Matt, and Nic of course for sticking with the project.
-
Those are every nice. If they were 15 mm you would be making money off my account...
Quite "period" in appearance indeed. Well done.
"... A Tejano fighting against his native Mexican brothers..."
I would note that the "Anglo" Texans were technically Mexican Citizens in rebellion not just the Hispanic "natives" (which my Apache friend would refer to as the 'first interlopers'...)
(All the usual wikipedia caveats apply)
"... Tejano or Texano (Spanish for "Texan") is a term used to identify a Texan of Criollo Spanish or Mexican heritage.
Historically, the Spanish term Tejano has been used to identify different groups of people. During the Spanish Colonial times and pre-Anglo colonization, the term primarily applied to Spanish settlers of the region now known as Texas (first as part of the New Spain and then in 1821 as part of Mexico).[2] During the times of independent south Texas, the term also applied to Spanish-speaking Texans and Hispanicized Germans and other Europeans.[2] In modern times, the term is more broadly used to identify a Texan of Mexican descent. It is also a term used to identify the natives of those regions settled..."
Gracias,
Glenn

Very nice! I look forward to seeing the painted versions, they look like they'd paint up a treat!
-

I know. :) I had no doubts.
I have heard the term recently used rather differently in discussion of rules for TWI/MAW locally recently (from both Texans and non-Texans) and since those people sometimes visit LAF I thought I would throw out my understanding on the actual definition in case they were reading this thread.
Gracias,
Glenn

I already have some of your miniatures and they are really great.

Nice to see some more figures, though I'll doubt I'll get much more than Zorro and some Presidial Cav till my current lead mountain is reduced.

Does this mean it's time to remind you of your promise? ;D
-
I do wish you'd consider doing some spaghetti western minis.....they'd sell like hot cakes!

Brilliant additions to the range,Matthew Bickley is some sculptor. His miniatures are full of character and he always manages to come up with refreshingly different poses for the figures,I also like playing the game of trying to recognize characters from the Alamo movies in the greens.Outstanding work.
-
Skirmishing Presidials and more villagers... 8) Since one of the few areas I will probably keep both 25+ mm and more space friendly sets both is VSF/IHMN (Tarzan and Mexican Rebels specicifically) :) and "VSF like 'Supers' games" (Zorro specifically) o_o 8) I am still tracking these.
Good thing I have not sold off the Pueblos yet! If anyone ever makes Presidials/Soldados de Cuera in 15 mm then these might be expendable but until then I am an addict I guess.
Gracias,
Glenn

Looks like I'll be prying open the wallet for these. :-*

You have me very tempted with these :D

And they'll be in the online shop shortly as the castings have arrived. ;)
