This was a very tough decision! :-*
-
Wow, both of these are just excellent. :-* So many small details and both beautifully executed!
-
Well looks like it's time to break my brushes, through my paints away and scream to the night sky about the unfairness of life...Phenomenal paint jobs guys! This is a tough one.
-
I voted for the Prof. :)
I need to work on my terrain collection, toy soldiers look much nicer surrounded by trees and buildings and stuff.

That does make a deal of difference, but you paint jobs are great!
-
Stunning trousers there prof!
-
Both excellent. Toughest match of the round to choose between. Very well done both.
-
Phew! Tough call!.....Prof-lovely colours and cracking scene. Nord-your paint is solo characterful. Those chaos dudes look great but that banner....wow!
-
Damn - I want to vote for both!
-
Both excellent. Toughest match of the round to choose between. Very well done both.
Agreed here, I love that gritty brutal look on the marauders. Prof's crisp work and freehand- makes a tough choice.
-
The blood spatter is well done, and I love the banner, top job Nord 8)
Excellent Germanics Alex, love 'em. I think I'll do some for round 5 :-*
-
Definitely the hardest choice of this round.
-
Agreed, hardest choice of the round. Both entries are amazing
-
this was tough, but I suppose I gotta vote
-
when this LPL is over , could we please see some more photos of those Chaos marauders? The more I look at them the more fine detail I see. Would love to see separate photos of each figure and also from different angles.
-
This is a really tough one. They are both great. Decisions. Sigh.
-
Very nice, both entries! I love the Germans as I'm currently painting hard on the Dark Ages period and can see that my intended LPL season 8 entry for this round certainly would have be matched up here with the "Prof" luckily the time difference and week of working nights kept me out of this LPL.... :'( fine by me as I didn't need a spanking by the Prof's Germans. lol

:o
A couple of absolutely fantastic entries.
-
Prof.Witchheimer - The highlights and definition in your minis are amazing. I like how each part of the mini is well defined, flesh, clothing, equipment, etc. The pants are fantastic, but I particularly appreciate your work with the standard bearer's staff, as that kind of highlighting on wood is time consuming.
Nord - Generally, I don't care for blood splatter on minis because it rarely looks good. Probably everyone put blood splatter on their first mini, further making blood splatter appear like a novice painting technique. However, your blood splatter is mind blowing! You did it perfectly and it actually added to the models' appearance.
Due to the amazing use of blood splatter which is difficult to execute well I think the edge goes to Nord. It was a tough call though.

exactly how I feel, marvelous work!
-
Yes, it was a tough choice. Are some of the Germans conversions, by the way, including the clubman and the chap in the Roman armour?
-
I have never like those marauder figures...until now...I'm stunned.
And...well...the prof never fails to impress... :-*
What a match up?!?!
This is what the LPLIs all about!
Cheers,
Blue

Toughest match of the round to choose between. Very well done both.
Without a doubt, I went back and forth between these two pictures for the longest of any matchup in this round. Neither deserves to lose. Both deserve to win. LPL...you bastard! lol lol lol

What a tough choice! Both are really excellent and with a lot of beautiful details.

Excellent Germanics Alex, love 'em. I think I'll do some for round 5 :-*
That would be great, Chris, looking forward to see them!

They are Warlord, from the tribesmen with Roman equipment set, so no conversions.
-
What a wonderful choice to have! Superb work on both.

What a wonderful choice to have! Superb work on both.
Yes LPL is a little like Christmas, and with The Great Escape on C5 last night even more so!
-
An even match but a finer set of men has never enjoyed a curry wurst, Alex.
-
Excellent work here, a very tough match up for round one! The brushwork on both entries is great, and it's a tough decision here.
I think the thing that gets me is the depth and richness of the scenery though. Very immersive!
Thanks

The match of the round
Both deserve a win
-
I think it's the difference of styles that makes this so hard to call. Both are very nicely done. Hmm...
