Title: Models for ARC Generators
Post by: Conquistador on 28 March 2014, 01:19:05 PM
I am thinking both "fixed" looking (but obviously "portable" for the game duration,) and those that look 'packable.'

I am thinking putting one on an Elephant (or my spare Lion figure.)

Sources besides scratch building?

Gracias,

Glenn

Last Stand Convertibles makes Steam Powered Back Packs that might work. Sorry I'm away from my computer right now so I can't post a picture.

Still waiting, hopefully they are on the way.

If I don't see them this week I will try and contact seller asking for ETA.

I asked them for a price for shipping to the UK last week, but no-one has replied yet.

I'll give it one more try, but if they don't answer emails they don't get the business.  :-[

May have had a problem with their ordering cart and Firefox/Paypal...

researching...

Yes, Paypal/Firefox/LSC - somebody - did have some issues.  Payment just cleared when I submitted correctly...

Quote:

Each order has a "Submit Payment" link. Use this if you did not complete the payment when you placed your order.

If you have already paid please allow upto 48 hours for paypal to process and post the payment to our account, and for us to pack your order.

Once your order has been packed this page will update with that information. Your order will ship with the next available postal run. Monday thru Friday.

End Quote

48 hours?  I thought I was a paranoid pessimist...

Gracias,

Glenn

What about Westwinds Tesla Projector

Link?

The http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/index.php has no search capability?  Really?

WTF, is this 1970?

Edit:  found it by clicking through all options - http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=204_224&products_id=1709

$11.71 plus shipping for one?!  Sorry, that is asinine.  I would build something first...

Gracias,

Glenn

I was reminded of some of the kit in Dr. Promethius' Electro Laboratory
(http://pulpfigures.com/files/resized/pwm15-1x470.JPG)
http://pulpfigures.com/products/view/56 (http://pulpfigures.com/products/view/56)
with a bonus that one of the pieces looks like an electro-static burst generator to me ....
but I notice that the cost is circa $15 - :(

Ack!

I saw those  a while ago but forgot.

I wonder if the back packs can be purchased separately or must be cut off the figures...

Any way - Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you...

No worries merely pointing out the availability of a miniature. Not where to buy it from or from what Country ;) Is there not a US supplier of Westwind products I though Old Glory? did?

Hi guys
I posted a description of some scratch built arc rifles/pistols etc I did with my Legionnaires. They were really basic and came out looking quite good.

You can also see a bit of conversion work wit hthe earlier Pharaonic Revivalists company.
Random pieces of 1/72 airfix kits are your friend! :D

@ Natholeon - I follow your excellent blog, and those figures are ace,  :D

If it's not too silly a question, what do you use for the tubing?

El Prez. When my daughter wasn't looking  :o I snaffled some of the thin hollow plastic tubing that she uses for making bracelets. She bought it from Spotlight, which is a fabric and crafts store here in NZ (and in Oz too I think). I'm not too sure what the international equivalents are, but every town is bound to have one. The tubing was shocking pink, but it seems to take undercoat and repainting well.

Going back to a post earlier in this discussion, I too asked Last Stand Convertibles about their shipping rates to the UK and got this reply:

"it is all the same everywhere right now, just be sure to put the proper shipping address in your paypal payment as that is what we use for shipping"

So I will be sending them an order for their steam backpacks in the next couple of days.

Cheers, Andy
