Really nice work Mr Anderson :-* :-* :-*.
You never seem to make much of a comment on the pics (which speak for them selves!) but I was wondering if you painted all own work?
Darrell.

Very nice, love the fleur de lys. In the second photo there is another mounted knight in the rear carrying a yellow shield with a blue sigil. What does the blue sigil represent? It looks like a stylised beetle. Is it the coat of arms of a historic person?

Hi Darrell
The pics do speak for themselves as you say! I am not sure what the question is, but if it is do I ever paint figures myself the answer is yes but not so often now the eyes are not so sharp. Here is a couple of pics of my work albeit in 15mm ;)

Hi Moonshado,
The design is Historical it is Hughes Revel who ended up as a Master of the Hospitallers in 1258 the blue design is actually a Birds wing but I can understand why you may think beetle on first look.

Sorry, I'm going to be an irritating pedant now... And go off at a tangent... :D
'Sigil' is a term coined by G.R.R.Martin in his Game of Thrones books. (Presumably 'badge' was a bit too ordinary-sounding).
'Sigil' comes from the latin word for seal or signature, and was later applied to occult or magical runes/characters - it is not a correct word for a heraldic crest, blazon, charge, whatever...
And since it's a premeditated misuse of the word by the author (much as I love the GoT books) I seriously hope it doesn't start to become used to talk about real medieval heraldry.
Like most fantasy authors, George deliberately mucks about with words and ideas to make his fantasy setting seem a little bit different and otherworldly to our own. Which is why, presumably, his knights are all styled 'Ser' rather than the historical 'Sir'. It's just a conceit.
Sorry to be a nit-picker. Really :)

Hand painted Fleur De Lys, lovely work! I tried doing some myself, they didn't turn out all that well.

Really nice work! What manufacturer are the kings and the flat topped face mask helmed knight in the second one?
Thanks - Allen
BTW, just joined the group, great conversations and resources!

Hi Allen
The King and the Knight are both from Crusader Miniature the king is the Spanish figure from the El Cid range given a Front Rank horse and some green stuff to the cape the knight is from the late crusades range.
Best wishes
