Title: T+T in the Sudan with pictures
Post by: Driscoles on 03 July 2008, 12:37:56 PM
Hi,

we played two colonial games at the weekend. We wanted to test new rules like formations, volley fire, flags, musicians, special units etc.

The figures we used are from Old Glory, Redoubt, Perries and Foundry ( Painted by Frank Becker, Knoxville and me ). The terrain, animals and innocent bystanders was shared by us three.

The first game we played was an attack on a small village and the second game was about a supply column comming under attack from an ambush.

We had lots of fun and I wanted to share the pictures with you. When I have the whole bunch I will make battle reports.

All pictures copyright by Frank Becker.
Cheers
Björn

Sorry, but it's still in an early phase of development. Maybe we'll do a closed beta test and invite you then... ;)

Now that's a really huge game for T&T! Have you been satisfied with the rules so far?

Thanks for the kind posts.

Maik, we are very happy with the rules so far. We currently work for some rules that make T+T more suitable for Colonial and Darkest Africa games.

The sudanese Units were pretty large. But the game was fluid and fast paced. We had breaks when we discovered new rules in some situations and had to discuss them.

One thing for example was splitting fire or turning a gun etc !

Tellus: youre welcome :)

Cheers

Sorry to say that as the owner is a very nice chap, but Displaced Miniatures is too instable these days. Once more, I can't see any pics. :'(

Sadly, only too true. However, as I had the pleasure of being able to be there for a few hours I at least saw all the minis. And they were just a total blast. Also nice to have met twon more members of the forum. Too bad I had to leave before the actual game started... Well, maybe next time....

Is it only me that I cannot see any photos or something happened and photos disappeared?

The problem with Displaced Miniatures is that it sometimes dont work. Just try again or come back later. I can see the pics now.

Seems to be a permanent problem again.
Why not hosting the pics via www.photobucket.com? Tried several providers myself - this was the easiest and most reliable.

Where did you get the plants in the foreground of the 'through the fields' picture?

I came back and it was awesome!
Very nice minis and scenery. Are the Shiks from Coppelstone or the older ones from Wargames Foundry?
Best wishes and regards,

They are from Wargames Foundrys Darkest Africa Range. I think Copplestone was the sculptor.
Foundry also has a North West Frontier Range of Shiks. I have them too but not painted yet.

Maybe we should talk about that, I´m sure I could get tickets when Hamburg plays in Bochum, and a couple of wargamers would be here, too. :)

In the "Wave on Wave" picture is an item of scenery of ... well, pale straw coloured grass surrounded by green foliage ... how do you make those?

Those are hairs from a brush glued into plastic Easter decoration. Than the whole thing is put onto a base.

Also, I don't suppose you have a unit list for the game? :)

A couple of weeks ago a guy emailed me and asked if I could write him a sample army list for the NWF. Do you need a list for the Sudan ?
If so PM me and I see what I can do...Thats what I call customers service.
Besides, sorry my answer for the plants took so long.
Cheers
