WoW :o
now that's what I call showcase painted french retreat 1812....
and the Zanzibari are what I would like to call my own....
-
The slavers are generally well done, but their robes are just too clean looking. After being in the hot jungle for a day or more, there would be sweat stains, dirt, rips. These are as white and fresh as the newly driven snow (which the French would not like to see ). The facial expressions and snow on pants give the retreaters a realistic look.

Nice work gentleman!

Well done to both, but Curt I've freezing just looking at that! 8)

WOW, this “French Retreat” looks fantastic….you can feel the ice and snow. :o

Thanks for the kind words everyone, much appreciated. I really like the skin tones on those Zanzibaris. What did you use? I think I need a different approach for my SCW Moroccan troops and this would work very nicely...

Thanks for the encoragement. I use foundry triad paints mostly and these were painted using the their African Flesh 126.

Thanks, Hu Rhu, for the paint info. I quite like the Foundry system (I have their Napoleonic range) and will order this trio in.

Great job on the Retreat, they sure look cold and miserable.
