I was really taken by this Lemax snake oil wagon. It is resin, reasonably priced and despite the large wheels which don’t really bother me, it goes well with 28mm as can be seen by the size of the door. The only real modification I did to it other than a new paint job was to add a few pieces of plastic to each step to reduce the height of each step level. I really like the wagon’s sign so I kept it as it came. The figure is from Horrorclix. I rebased and repainted him. The two trees are resin. I picked them up at the swap meet for $2 each. I have no idea who manufactured them. Because the Lemax wagon is rather unique, I thought I’d share it with you. Hope you like it. Another excellent find by you Richard. The Horrorclix figure is the right one for that wagon. I can see a Victorian America West gallery on the horizon.

Great stuff Mr 15mm!! :-*
-
That looks excellent as does the unscrupulous fella selling his wares!
-
Very good. :)

Fantastic paintjob on the Horrorclix figure, :)
Wagon is lovely, and the trees are striking.
What's not to like?

Thanks to you all for taking the time to write. I'm glad you enjoyed the wagon and salesman. I've been lucky to find a number of very nice, very usable pieces by Lemax. While Lemax does do a lot of seasonable pieces, they also do things that are not holiday related such as the Snake Oil wagon. The other nice thing about Lemax is that with the exception of their buildings and large boats, the pieces are usually made of resin and thus easy to work with if modification is needed. An odd characteristic of a lot of this stuff is that they come with oversized figures. That was the case with the Snake Oil wagon. The accompanying figure was at least 54mm so I junked him and found this Horrorclix figure that I really like. I also use a nice medicine show salesman from Foundry's Old West line. Thanks again for the kind words. Richard

A nice little wagon.

Excellent workmanship. I have loads of those old Horrorclix ready for repainting......they just seem to echo the lead pile :D
-
I love it. Well done
-
Great job.
I have that same horroclix mini on my desk waiting a repaint.
Yours turned out TERRIFIC!
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the kind comments. Much appreciated. A couple years ago I found a website that was loaded with Horrorclix at very low prices. I bought a number of them and have painted them up as they fit into a figure collection I was working on. I included a few of them in my Victorian collection. Again, thanks for writing. Richard

That's a great wagon and a great figure too. Those are weird trees and go perfectly with the wagon.
Take a second wagon, make the front the rear and it would work well for the Wizard of Oz wagon too!
You do good work old man.
You really should do a soda fountain, I think you could do one justice.

WOW! That's fantastic. :-*

Dave and Mike, thank you both for taking the time to write and for the generous comments. And as for the soda shop, I'll bet I could find the makins at the swap meet. Richard

I'm not sure anyone else will get this, but I'd have named him Doctor Terminus.
Regardless, that's a very nice wagon and figure!
-
FramFramson, thanks for writing. Glad you like the wagon and figure. The simple truth is if the sign that came with the wagon had said Doctor Terminus, he would have been Doctor Terminus because I liked the look of the sign, and it was the only thing about the wagon I didn't repaint. Richard

From which particular Lemax range is the wagon?
-
I bought it a couple years ago so I'm not absolutely sure, but I think it was their Halloween stuff. Try googling Lemax Dr. Jones amazing Snake Oil wagon. When I first saw one, the guy who owned had no idea who the manufacturer was. The only thing he told me was that the sign on the wagon was the original. So that was what I started my search with and finally found it with Lemax. Ricahrd

Well, Doc Terminus the Snake Oil Salesman is an old movie reference.
I didn't realize it came with pre-made signs! You've integrated those very well with your own painting.

Yes love that wagon!

Lemax makes some nice stuff, and a lot of their accessories such as the wagon are resin and easy to work with if some modification is need. Thanks for writing. Richard
