I briefly released these figures a year or so back. I'm hoping to re-launch them soon, so I thought I ought to try out alternative colour schemes. I picked red. Big mistake - it took ages, and still doesn't look quite right. I'd forgotten what a PITA painting red was... I reckon I'll stick with the bluey-grey I was using before.

Looks alright to me 8)
I'll pick some of these up for my Akira project so a heads up would be great when they get rereleased :)

They might have been a drag to paint, but they are just dandy to look at :-*

Yup, still looking pretty awesome! And in red, it looks to be just a bit faster too... :D
And you're too close to the subject; from over here, the paintjob looks just fine, if a bit featureless on the front torso. Most would do unspeakable things to get that rich a red btw. Just saying... ;)
Great news of this one becoming available again, since I missed out on the first release. Please keep us posted.

Excellent paintjobs! Nice vibrant popping reds with good contrasting colors. So thumbs up!
-
Nice paint choice! And I'm glad to know that the figures are coming back ;)

The red looks spot on, nice work :D

Good to see these back out Mike. Very nice.

Stonkingly good stompy robot.

These are awesome!
I am not sure exactly what to use them for, but I am definately feeling a need to own these.
-
Thanks everyone! I'll probably try painting some more of them over the weekend - but not red... never again! ;)
-
Yes, please keep us in the loop when they are for sale again. Why did they go away in the first place?
I plan to use the walkers for rogue trader chaos robots or dreadnoughts!!
thanks
btw- nice paint jobs, these colors bring out the details on the sculpts, which are nicer then I remember. The grey mutes it all together.

I have never understood why people find red so difficult. I have painted many many red figures over the years (my first army was red) and all turned out ok.
By the way, yours look great!
