Title: The Last Samurai in the Back of Beyond
Post by: Boggler on 04 July 2008, 08:55:07 AM
I'm putting together a Japanese army for the Back of Beyond using the Copplestone Chinese figures with caps which are close enough to WW1 Japanese for me not to notice the difference. So far, I've managed to find everything I need except for a 'Last Samurai' staff officer figure.

I'm planning to convert either one of the command figures (one of the ones with a revolver) or, more likely, one of the figures from the Dare to Die packs (firing the mauser and brandishing a sword).

My question is, how do I remove the sword scabbard from the back of the Dare to Die figure and how do I model a katana in place of the chinese sword that he's carrying? Any help would be very welcome.

modellin a katana? Why not to use some already existing katanas, say from Dixon's?

You can buy packs of weapons from Dixons, not just the figures.

The Assault Group do a very extensive range of Medieval Asian weapons too. I presume you will want it in a scabbard??? If you only need one send me your address by pm and I will post it to you.

The swords arrived today in the post  :D

Many thanks again for helping me out. Hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures of my converted figures some time over the summer.
