Title: 28mm Egyptian Pharaoh figure ?
Post by: bobblezbob on April 06, 2014, 02:58:24 PM
Hi I'm looking for a 28mm Egyptian Pharaoh figure in a non action pose, standing looking regal & proud & preferably wearing a fancy mask not unlike Tuts death mask as depicted on his casket. This is for a Stargate project representing Ra the Sun God.
Pointers to manufacturers of suitable figures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
(Moderator, I've posted this in the Ancients board because of the historical context but wonder if I might get a better response from the Pulp or Future Wars boards because of the intended use of the figure ?)

Regards

Cheers for that Dewbakuk - I've got the Priest of Aten but he's a wee bit on the 'chunky' side compared to the SG figures I've already got, am hoping someone can come up with a figure in a mask if such a one exists !

Are you using the Phoenix Miniatures figures?

That makes things awkward. The Phoenix stuff got a bad rep for not matching in with anything else. Too small for modern stuff and too big for the old 25's.

I got them when they first came out - already had a resin Stargate, DHD & Sarcophagus - and thought it was time I did something with them. I personally like the sculpts, lots of detail but slight so as you say, not much to match to.
I got a Dark Lord fig from Heresy Miniatures (that fits in well size wise with the Phoenix figs) that I thought I could use as a stand in for a Goa'uld until I could find something a bit more 'historical' looking, I've still got my fingers crossed  ;)

You'll probably be best looking for a suitable figure and then doing a head swap. Puppets War do some Egyptian God heads that might work, particularly the 'Apophis' head centre bottom.

They're scaled for GW stuff but a Deathmask is pretty big. I'd extend the segments on the side out and down onto the shoulders.

There is also this Deathmask from the GW Tomb Kings 'Tomb Guard', you might be able to get one by trade or through a bitz seller.

I hope that next one will have a Pharaoh in it, they are great miniatures.

Ooooo those heads are a distinct possibility - Horus head top right - and the Tombs King Guard mask may work  :)
Many thanks for that Dewbakuk.
bandit86, I saw those Harem women and was wondering if a Pharaoh might turn up as part of the set !
