Title: Black Scorpion Tombstone and Savage Worlds Reaper comparison
Post by: Saucy Jack on 06 April 2014, 04:56:48 PM
I own a lot of Black Scorpion's Tombstone miniatures, which are perfect for Deadlands. I'm however looking to adding some official Deadlands Reaper miniatures to my collection.

I'm a bit worried about the scale though and would like to know if anyone have miniatures from both sets and how they match. A photo would be very good if possible.

I have miniatures from both lines. I'll try and get some pictures up tonight when I get home tonight. As I recall they mix pretty well.

I have Black Scorpion, but I've painted Reaper minis for friends.  Physically, they do mix pretty well, details though are another story.  The Black Scorpion figures especially the new resin models are loaded with fine detail.  I've found the Reaper minis particularly the newer "Bones" models, to have rather soft detail.

I have some of both. They are pretty close in size & heft.

The next images are all singles but they are all taken in the same place so you can get an idea of size from the background.

Black Scorpion

While I might agree on soft detail on the minis cast in plastic from Reaper, I will disagree about the sharpness and amount of detail on the regular metals compared to Black Scorpion. All the Black Scorpion minis here were originally cast in pewter and they are using the same models for those minis. I don't see any difference in detail between the two lines. They will look fine side by side on the same board.

Ditto!

I am using BS stuff mostly and was looking at the Reaper range as it looked compatible.
It seems so, so: 'Thank You!' for taking the time to confirm this.

You'd really have to study the models closely if you wanted to pair up foot and mounted.  I use Black Scorpion models, and really didn't try to match them up, although I am tempted from time to time to try.  The Reaper models look good to add some specials to my collection.
