Title: Who do that Voodoo?
Post by: OLeary on 06 April 2014, 07:38:06 PM
This is Baron Simone LeCroix the Voodoo master from Reaper Miniatures.

I carved the design on the base using Sculpey.

How is Your Photo set-up? I wonder what lighting produces the scaled lighting.
I don't assume it is lightsource painting, is it?

Magnificent paintwork!  :-*

What the good baron has against ginger bread men is anyone's guess.

I don't know what scaled lighting means. I use an overhead lamp and two lamps coming in from the side. The backdrop I used comes from Corvus Miniatures here http://corvusminiatures.blogspot.com/2010/04/cloud-backdrops-for-your-miniature.html

@Michi-I'd like to have her! She's got some serious attitude.

Thank you all for your kind comments!

THX

scaled lighting

what I mean is that the light source appears to be to scale. usually the much larger and brighter lamps make diffuse shadows, not what shadows would be in the proper scale. I would guess that the lamps You use are not very strong?

The Baron is fantastic, really beautifully done black cloth and skin!

If you're interested in a more traditionally voodoo/Haitain/Caribbean zombie (drugged person rather than reanimated dead person, that is!) Brigade Games has a couple of packs in their Caribbean Empire range. I don't own the zombies or voodoo priests/priestesses, but I do have the sailors with Thompson SMGs from the same range, and they're very nice figures.

Haitian Voodoo Priests/Priestesses: http://brigadegames.3dcartstores.com/Haitian-Voodoo-Priests-Priestess-and-Sorcerers-5_p_324.html
