Just posted pictures of my finished 28mm river boards on my blog:
http://dhcwargamesblog.wordpress.com/2014/04/09/new-river-boards/ (http://dhcwargamesblog.wordpress.com/2014/04/09/new-river-boards/)
All boards are 50cm x 50cm and designed to be arranged on a modular basis.
Enjoy,
Burkhard
P.S.: here is the usual pre-view (as always more clickable pictures on the blog itself):

Wow, lovely! Great boards!
-
Excellent! Great colour for the river.
Is that a kind of aquatic crossroads in the bottom left hand corner?
-
Thank you all a lot!
@ CPT Blood: That is supposed to be a ford. More detailed pictures (with Byzantine cavalry) on the blog... it might get clearer that way.

Wow, that is good! The water effect is excellent. Lovely work.
-
Thank you!
The water is just brown paint, with a coat of high gloss varnish, two green washes and two more coats of high gloss varnish. ;)
-
Excellent!
:-* :-*
I have to build my river/creek sections soon, so this is great inspiration.
Thank you!
:D

Thanks! Glad to inspire! :-*

Those sure are pretty to behold! :-*
Good job on the "pink-foam" bridge, looks great. Are the bridges movable and do you have destroyed versions of them? :)

Lovely work :-*

Thank you!
@ Pocoloco: Unfortunately the bridges are only pristine. I did not even think about it with the small one. With the large one, I was thinking about doing it removable. Problem is, the smallest strength you can get pink foam (without a waffle pattern) here in Germany is 3cm. So I had to cut a 3cm board in half to get there. Over this length it got a bit wavy. Looks good since it gives the bridge a more natural appearance, but it also means that I had to plaster the pieces into the board, so that there was no gap. If I ever get crazy enough, I might end up doing another ruined bridge board. o_o

Excellent river terrain. I like the colours of the river - very realistic.
